EA has released the third gameplay video from Crysis 2 campaign, the level is called Gate Keepers and was captured from the PC version. The game's out in a few days.

already seeing footage on youtube from the 360 single player. It looks incredible, especially the way the level is open really reminds the first crysis gameplay and not some dumbed down corridor shooter.

No way its a dumbed down corridor shooter and whoever claims so...has no idea what he/she is talking about.
It's about getting through a variety of spaces and how you use that space for hunting while choosing the best route/power.
Planning, marking and hunting is what makes crysis stand out from other shooters. Atleast if you choose to play it that way.
I guess some will always lack patience to do so and are eager to shoot themselves through the game ala CoD.
Personally I always play stealthy, if there is an option to do so.

but well, its the console factor. people saw how crytek was going on all out on the consoles, then the first crysis 2 stuff mentioned is new york concrete jungle, and the first footage was from some narrow rooftops gameplay. it's just normal that the purists would be weary or upseat, but even on console showing a central park scene where you can go on and on on foot shows that it isn't JUST a dumbed down sequel. (even if there are some corridor like setpieces sequences to make the game more cinematic or scripted in parts).
I am super hyped for it as a game, but PS3 demo was BAD (confirmed to be old build, but I dont trust Crytek).
I do hope its true though for any PS3 owner that doesnt have the chance to play it on PC, because it truly is a great game/series.
Though the MP is by Crytek UK (Haze devs) and original Crytek is doing the MP.
Maybe the SP will look better on PS3 to its MP counterpart considering the original Crytek is doing it. *crossing fingers*
I will probably buy it on PC, ran perfectly on Advanced settings on MP demo, but SP is known for larger levels, more scripted stuff...etc. so I dont know how it will perform.
Anyways, can't wait to play it regardless.
It is a linear game just like any other games not open space like Crysis. But they said it is by far their best game. I think all footage shown are on PC, 360 console version, was also shown running on PC at console settings which is low.

The first Crysis was hardly "open" despite the massive draw distances. This looks to be the same, a linear path or two leading to a larger area with multiple ways to achieve your objective using the suit powers.

yea they really nailed the 360 version! Locked frame rate, minimal pop up I am very impressed! 360 version looks great

Guys, am i the only one who realize that crysys 2 suck compared to crysys 1 in therms of pure graphics?
Crysis 1 is a very jaggy game and adding AA kills the performance, Crysis 2 looks better is better optimized and generally runs better
Oh my god if the demo is anything to go by the 360 version will definitely be the console version to own. It looks and runs noticeably better than the PS3 version. I'm so disappointed! I downloaded the PS3 version yesterday and it looks like a slideshow at times, running at 15 to 20 fps in some places. The visuals are not as sharp either and it seems as though it may be running at a lower resolution. These problems aren't present in the 360 version. I was expecting a virtual carbon copy of the 360 demo in terms of the level of visuals and came away very irritated.
I will be getting the PC version but I'm still pretty pissed off that the console versions aren't exactly the same. Very disappointing. Now I know why they didn't show the PS3 demo until very late.

I have no doubt the gameplay will be fun. I had a lot of fun with the 360 demo, and now having a lot of fun with the PC demo. The PS3 demo, however, will never disgrace my viewing display again.
In all honestly though, I really am up in the air on whether the PC version will get a good review. This video seemed quite boring, running around a city that doesn't really look that great shooting dumb soldiers, and it doesn't seem to have the destructible buildings and structures that the first one had. There was no better satisfaction than tossing a grenade into a structure on the first game and watching the whole thing blow to pieces. PC gamers are going to be very picky about this game, and rightly so. I just hope they have more cards in the deck than 'new york'.
Unfortunately i don't have a gaming PC, so i will buy Crysis 2 for console. Have you guys seen the 360 singleplayer footage from the retail version? It looks amazing! The dynamic lightning, the textures, the explosions... I haven't seen anything like this before on 360. Knowing it runs on a console that is 5 years old... Will buy this this game. Day one. :)
PS3 MP demo was disappointing but I don't give a shit about MP and it's done by a separate team so I will wait and see about the SP, not holding out too much hope though.

From what I read, PS3 demo was an very old build and retail will be different.
Crytek UK is handling MP while original Crytek is handling SP.
Its kind of like Medal of Honor situation.
SP was done by one company while MP was done by DICE, hence why visually it was different and how gameplay and feel of the guns was different.
I am guessing the SP version will run and look better than MP and assume demo was an old build.
I am hoping we see PS3 retail gameplay as we are seeing the 360 version, that should be a nice indication of what to expect.

I had this view... Until I downloaded the PS3 version last night for a round of comparisons. I felt the PS3 version was atrocious. The resolution is definitely lower, the framerate is lower, and the shaders don't look as good. The DoF is bad, with a strange blur effect around objects that should be sharp. The active camo effect is really crappy too.
I'd say it was more jarring going from the PS3 version to the 360 version, than it was going 360 to PC...
