With only a month to go before the release of Crysis 2, EA and Crytek are pleased to confirm that a new multiplayer demo for Xbox 360 and PC is coming on March 1. The PlayStation 3 demo is coming soon. Update: Be Invisible Trailer added.
All versions of the new demo will include two maps, “Skyline” and “Pier 17”, as well as two modes "Team Instant Action" and "Crash Site".

lol, awesome, a demo of the one part of the game i dont care about (multiplayer)
would much rather have a single player demo, see how everthing is (AI, performance, pop-in etc)
Well, the unfinished leaked version ran incredibly well for me, but you couldn't max it out so who knows. It runs a LOT better than the original, and Warhead. I didn't see any sort of pop-in or anything. I expect the fill game will run pretty well. Plus, I bet you can make an offline game on PC and muck around or something.

why would you assume i want to play the PC version?
i'm talking console's here. and the footage so far has shown quite a lot of...shall we say, "issues"
i'd like a single player demo to see just how bad they are. whether the AI and pop-in arnt as bad as they appear to be.
Be interesting to see how this has improved since the beta as that was not a great first impression! but then it was a beta so I assume they have improved something since then!!
Not often you get two demo's before a game these days so roll on 1 March!!

Yeah i thought the beta had great potential, if they have sorted a few things out it's going to be great online as well as off!
My thoughts exactly, getting to try a new level and hopefully some other weapons will help a lot.
Seems as though they are willing to put some effort into this game as another demo so soon that shows no sign of improvement will not go down well so they must be pretty confident in what they are re-releasing.
I really wish they had released a single player demo for the PC. That is what I'm excited about. I have enough MP games to play. I want to see the SP, and not some DX9 beta shit.
So much focus on MP, something I have zero interest in. Spawn, shoot someone, get shot, respawn, fall asleep. I got bored of this stuff 10 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit since.
Give me a story, some set pieces, great atmosphere, and some VARIETY and ORIGINALITY. Good single player is why I play video games, and why games like SkyRim and The Last Guardian are infinitely more interesting than anything else out there.
I really, really enjoyed the demo and look forward to ANYTHING more to play, but I admit that I'd like a SP demo this go 'round. I think I'm sold on the games multiplayer aspects so more maps won't do anything for us that already have maxed out our levels (except be more fun for a while) but a single player demo that was good would sell the game for me. I don't buy anything for multiplayer only reasons.

I didn't assume anything. But considering how tight the two versions are, and how most of the footage was actually running the 360 config on a PC, it's fair to assume that it'll run fine on consoles. And the MP demo had NOTHING in the way of pop in when I played it. I expect SP will be pretty similar. Both parts played identical on PC for me. And the AI was alright. Not like, super impressive but plenty good and fun.

in my opinion the ai in games/shooter hasn't really improved for years
i read in reviews of Killzone 3 that the ai should be so smart, but all that behaviour of the Kz3-AI i've seen in shooters many many years ago already, nothing special imo
and don't tell me to play on a harder difficulty... i did, and enemies taking more hits and myself taking less doesn't have anything to do with a good intelligence IMHO ;)

Theres definatly been "pop in" in all the gameplay footage shown so far, and the mp beta. Theres NO WAY you didnt notice that.
I do think the game looks great though, and has more bells and whistles going on than what i've seen in KZ3 (though i still cant decide which looks the best artistically). Importantly i had fun with the multiplayer as it opened itself up and grew on me.
Killzone looks far better artistically than Crysis IMO.
I mean artwise, Crysis 2 doesnt have anything unique, its in NY, but being destroyed, like in Cloverfield, Godzilla, Day after the tomorrow, Prototype and much more, nothing special and is uninspired.
Atleast Killzone has a unique artstyle and amazing atmosphere to set it self apart from other games.
Only thing I hate about Crysis is that its not "heavy" space sci fi, by that I mean like Halo, Mass Effect, Killzone...etc. were you are on a different planet/s with various looks, unique atmosphere and whatnot, a shame because I like the suit alot.
Ah well, gameplay looks fun for sure so thats a good thing.

Fingers crossed anyway!

1 stress test, 1 beta and now a full on demo.
While PC gets nothing in months until now they say a MP demo is coming on March 1st while PS3 is "coming soon".
Really annoying and very stupid!
That aside, I am glad PC and PS3 is getting the demos, can't wai tto try both of them :D
