Wow. This is sweet but where is my Battlefield 3 HD video???

Battlefield 3 aside, this game looks promising to me. Can't wait to see how well the Crytek 3 engine performs on a console (can't afford a PC to run it right now)

This must be CG, no? Can't believe anything in there was real-time rendering.
Eh? the whole first half was straight from Crysis 1 and Warhead. I imagine all of the second half was from the console version of C2, as I say nothing of the sweet shaders possible with DX 10/11...

didnt find the trailer all that exciting, but it looked nice and the music was nice (too nice for the game itself imo)

still not sold. one minute they show footage that looks awesome gameplay wise, and then you see footage where the screen tearing and framerate look like ass, and the AI looks braindead. why is there no consistency? i dont think we're going to know what this really looks like untill it's actually released.

Crysis 1 was not really a full direct x 10 hardware game like many were led to believe as people were able to expose the very high quality setting under WinXP with a Dx9 card, however the game runs slow unless you are able to compare a GeForce 7900GTX hydrogen cooled overclocked to 1Ghz up from 650Mhz...
With my G92b Geforce GTS 250 1GB under VistaSP2 I am able to max out settings and Crysis 1 is fully playable in its full glory unless you enable AA/AF thats where you will want a GTX 580 where its been confirmed you can max it out unless you go beyond 1080p resolution and you are only interested in bragging...
Crysis 2 is obviously a multiplatform game, the console versions are expected, estimated to at least be 720p resolution and graphics are going to be limited to Microsoft's proprietary Dx9 hardware compliance, its obvious PC will be a higher Dx spec but until its released and tested and exposed I really have no faith in believing that the game will actually require a Dx11 card for required Tesselation which to me requires the 3d engine to be written from scratch instead of an on/off switch most PC gamers are marketed to believe in.
If it does turn out to require a Dx11 card get ready for benchmarks exposing how you will need three years from now graphics cards...to enable AA/AF.

I know where the footage comes from, but this is not directly taken from those games. It's directed footage from that game. I've played Crysis like 15 times now, and I know it doesn't look that good as in the trailer, even with all the mods and config tweaks. I'm pretty sure it's not real time rendering. In-engine, sure, but not real time.
That footage looks exactly what I play at (actually playing through right now). I play it on Very high (DX 10), though :P. I don't have Warhead though, but all of the Crysis 1 stuff was all straight and running real-time. Hell, I thought it looked better on my PC actually.
Crysis 1 was not really a full direct x 10 hardware game like many were led to believe
I can see the difference in the shaders (DX9 vs DX10). It's hard to pick up in Videos, as it's kinda subtle, but it makes a big difference over-all. It may not have been full 10, but it was definitely doing more than 9....

unlocking the very high settings in DX9 looks just as good as it does in DX10, and it runs better.

There may be a difference in precision but it's nothing you can actually see, except maybe the object based motion blur having a step effect compared to DX10's utter smoothness.
As far as I know that is something that only DX10 and above can accomplish (on PC hardware).

This trailer pleases me greatly. I was worried about how the plot of this game linked up with the original games.. now I feel better.
