I still haven't watched a single Night City Wire or any trailer after those of last year, if I'm not misremembering anything. Will be glad to dive in and discover almost everything as freh as possible and just get my mind blown away by awesome features and things that they're no doubt using in the Marketing.
Since I will already play it, no need to know them ahead of time. Trying to conserve the mystery and curiosity of when you play a new game. Same for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion and Gods & Monsters. The Holiday season promises to be a very jolly time.
But 4-5 years ago movie trailers really burned me out with how much spoilerish they are. So I stopped watching them unless it's something I'm very excited to know a little bit more, but know that it won't be too much, like teasers - The Batman teaser is fine, for example, but I didn't watch any of the Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, or other DC Fandome movie trailers.
As for games, the best and most infamous example is BioShock Infinite. The marketing team basically ripped off 90% of the best moments of that game and put them into trailers, gameplay walkthroughs, vignettes, etc. When I played the game, all those moments felt very underwhelmed to me.
Reading many reviews and users' comments, aside from the combat and the restrictive inventory controversies, a lot of people complained that they had already seen the game's best moments.
In the last 2-3 years, I've been watching less and less trailers before something comes out. I still save them on my HDDs. 99% of the videos Gamersyde post, I save them to watch if it's the first or second time seeing the game, later if I've already seen enough, and/or keep the best ones, which I burn to DVDs.
So I still watch some, but if it's a game I know I'm going to play no matter what - like everybody could give Cyberpunk 2077 a 1/10 and I know I will still 100% it no matter what. Everything else I see is just a spoiler.
I hated knowing that thing with V's friend... I really don't care if it's the first 10 minutes of the game, I which I could've experienced that fresh and then continued from that. Now that I know that happens, it has lost most of its impact, mentally and emotionally speaking.
I haven't watched Dune, I know some of the cast in it, which with the director and writer, if they do it justice, it will be one of the best movies ever. I don't know anything about Tenet, Raised by Wolves, etc.
There's already too much art for anyone to consume in 10.000 lives, so what I've been doing and it's working wonderfully - at least for me, is forgetting it exists and then one day it's out.
A perfect example is that Just today I learned that Supergiant Games' Hades is out. I love their games, specially Transistor, which is a 10/10 masterpiece. I've only seen that trailer back in The Game Awards 2018 or 2017, when it was announced that it would come in Early-Access exclusively at the Epic Games Store, when the EGS was revealed.
Now it's out and I can play the whole game without knowing anything other than a lot of people say it's a 9/10 or 10/10 game, some even saying it's their GOTY. So I will experience everything fresh. Didn't matter if I never saw the other trailers and previews.
Klei Entertainment's Griftlands is another I'm very interested in, but I don't care if I don't see it until it's out. Now I just do other stuff, whicj keeps me busy and takes my mind of other things and anything I'm very excited about, eventually comes out.
PS. Sorry this got very long. I love reading and writing so much that I just get carried away. And no, I have no talent to be a writer - which some people keep telling me to do. lol
It can be seen on the last trailer, it can be seen on the screens above.
That baby was downgraded a bit! :)
Mox for life.

they learned to tweak assets (in the name of upgrades) so as to avoid comparisons altogether
