Not really sure what to make of those pics, lighting seems a bit more dull than I remember. Either way, the first game was so fucking good I still have very high hopes for this game. Unless they rush it and don't evolve the gameplay enough.

Is it a woman this time? Looks way more feminine anyway. But hey, it looks pretty cool. I especially like the fact that the environment is some sort of church, and not just tunnels in a space ship :)

Its still Isaac Clarke, and he is killing things that were once children of the space colony. The pictures are set in the Church of unitology.

The first one was great... but too repetitive... And limited variation of monsters and scenario.

What? It had more variety than Resident Evil 4 (and I love both games)! All the space stuff, the setpieces, the bosses, puzzles.

Weird. Why release these screens?

Still, I remember Dead Space having great graphics and lighting, so I'm hopeful the sequel will improve them.

Dead Space was awesome-looking. However, I'm not really expecting the sequel to improve upon the graphics. Sure, it'd be nice, but the game doesn't need it.

I don't see how that matters. If the larger environments still look as good as the smaller environments in the first one, then I'll be happy. I'm just saying..I don't care if the lighting, textures, animation, effects, etc... aren't improved upon. Same way I feel about Batman:AA's sequel(except for better animation/physics on incapacitated enemies).

wow, these are some terrible images. Are they supposed to leave excited about the game?!

First one was one of the best games from last year, and this one will surelly be great as well, but these are bad PR images...

I just hope the engine supports AA this time and not only some crappy edge smoothing option that makes the game even worse looking..

It matters because larger environments that are populated, need more graphical power to render it they want the same kind of detail they did in the first.
When someone says something like "I remember Dead Space having great graphics and lighting, so I'm hopeful the sequel will improve them," I don't think they mean "I hope the graphics are improved so that the larger areas will look as good as the first one."

I'm not talking about the behind-the-scenes improvements that will allow the game to look and run the way it does, I'm talking about the actual end result, and for me, the end result doesn't need to look better than the first one.

if they sort of out the aliasing from the first game i'll be happy as far as visuals go.

not sure i like the new suit design tho. i definately pefered the rusty looking thing from the first game. gave it more character.

It's only one of a few available suits, actually.
In first DS all the original suits were pretty much the same, with more plating. In DS2 there will be a whole range of suits, designed for different tasks.
