Since Resident Evil 5 and, most of all, the Left 4 Dead series, it has become quite usual to face horror with friends without losing the feeling of fear that always goes with it. Dead Space 2 will then be no exception to the rule since it will feature a brand new multiplayer mode. Here are a few images showing how close human players and necromorph players can get. Don't forget to keep your mike on if you want people to hear you scream in space.

i think you loosing much feeling of fear if you play with a friend because you have someone who watch your back but this will be a funny mode. atleast its a mpmode and not the story. RE5 was a horrible RE GAME. COOP was the only way you could play it because the AI was very stupid.

Just think, for every minute spent developing the bolted on multiplayer component in this the devs could instead have made the single player campaign better and longer.

Why does every game need multi-player thesedays? Does it really boost sales when virtually eveyone who cares about multi-player just plays COD or Halo?

Hopefully this is worth the resources otherwise spent on making the campaign better. Nothing irks me more than a developer who wastes resources tacking on a shoddy multiplayer option.

I still think the first Dead Space is more creepier than its sequel in every way, but I haven't played it so I can't judge yet.

I just hope they know what they're doing.

Well, if the first game is anything to go by, then, they know what they are doing.
Probably more than anyone else who could have "butt in" on the sequel.

Ever considered that they could've simply hired more guys on top of their single player team?

every screen I see from DS2 gives the game a bad light, no AA and jaggies weverywhere and some necromorphs models of PS1 Gen Level: http://images.gamersyde.com/image_dead_space_2-14087-1961_0005.jpg.

I don't believe the DS1 "bullshots" were so bad, but even by bullshotery level, the game looked amazing, so I didn't care.

If they can afford to hire more staff, then those guys could have been making the single player even better.

Unless you are making Call of Duty or Halo, multi-player is just a bullet point in the box and nothing more.

Not necessarily. There is potential in multi-player outside the normal fps. This looks like a Beast mode more than anything. I don't see anything wrong with a game trying to lengthen it's playability. How are you so sure it's going to hurt the SP anyway? Or even that having more artists would make it better :/ There could be some really fun stuff here. I bet it would be mega-creepy to be walking the corridors and your buddy is one of those little monster babies skittering around in the dark.

@headpants, the first game was pretty jaggy as well, and it was just fine...

I know it WILL look great, doesn't mean the screens they are releasing aren't crappy to hell & back.

I mean, it probably was the best demo of a game in last E3, if I forget the scenes were the frame-rate went to single digits of so bad it was. Ps3 build i hope.

yeah DS1 was very underrated but its still the best S-H game this GEN with ALAN WAKE. DS2 will be awsome. maybe more action orientad like RE4 but still very scary. i dont care much for coop in horror games but it will be good for 1 playthrough with a friend.

The MP would have been better had it been a horde style mode

Considering what they were able to do in the first iteration of the series, I can only imagine how amazing 2 will be. The trailers look freaky
