GSY Video PC

If Deliver Us The Moon rings a bell to you, it is no wonder as we talked about it a bit more than a year ago. KeokeN Interactive's title is back on Gamersyde for 2 main reasons. One, it is not fully complete, it has been since last October but we were too busy to give it some coverage. Secondly, the game has just received the sort of update you don't always expect from an independent game. Head inside to check what we think and the 2 videos we've prepared, but before you do, let us wish you a merry Christmas, all the best for you and your loved ones.

What do Ray Tracing and DLSS bring to Deliver Us The Moon

Contrary to Cal of Duty: Modern Warfare which only include ray traced shadows, Deliver Us The Moon is closer the Control's approach to Ray Tracing in that it also features ray traced reflections. A certain number of effects are still missing compared to Remedy's game, but for an indie title, it's quite remarkable to see such implementation. Just like in Control, the most obvious addition are indeed the real time reflections you can easily spot in windows or even computer screens. You can choose between 3 Ray Tracing presets, from medium to epic, which obviously has a cost in terms of performance. With our RTX 2080 Ti and the activation of the game's DLSS (we'll say more about it in a bit) in 4K, we usually get a smooth 60 fps with epic RTX, unless the room we're in is packed with reflection effects, in which case framerate can drop in the low 50s. It's probably less easy to see the real difference between ray traced shadows and the "original" ones, but as you can see in our video, it can nonetheless make a difference. It's just a shame shadows look so sharp, evidently, the use of soft shadows would have helped with that. As for DLSS, 3 options are also available, one favoring performance, another pushing visual quality while the intermediate one offers a balanced solution. While we opted for performance to maintain a steady framerate, image quality take a little bit of a hit. It still looks good mind you, but you can tell it's not as sharp. Aside from the Ray Tracing and DLSS update, Deliver Us The Moon is a very immersive game we've enjoyed a lot. It offers a good amount of variety for such a title and the atmosphere is really spot on, so whether you can afford RTX or not, it's a very commandable experience in our humble opinion.
