Although you can't even see a damn thing almost...good non the less. Can't wait to buy this game.

No only if anyone could confirm the whole "play as Dante" thing would be good.

I'm hoping that the graphics get an improvement when we start to see the 360 version. So far, LP blows the socks off of both this and Dead Rising. I'm hoping that with the experience from LP, this game will end up getting close to that level (we've only seen it on PS3 so far, where they don't have as much experience).

Um hardly, this game looks much better than LP IMO.

It's hard to believe its using the same engine actually.

I have to disagree here. I played lost planet and the graphical effects in the game are AMAZING. Devil may cry uses relatively smaller levels anyway so it would make sense if down the road it'll look more impressive than lost planet but right now I dont see it.

Yes LP uses good effects (smoke, fire etc) but generally the texture's and polygon count is nowhere near as high as in DMC4.

You only have to look at the texture detail and polygon count of the character models and compare them to see the difference.

Low res textures, yes perhaps but low polygn count Im not so sure. Besides like I said, if you have a smaller level you can increase your polygon count so it all makes sense.
Compare these two screens for example:
DMC4 [ http://www.image-serveur.com/uploads/896257257f.jp... ]
LP [ http://www.image-serveur.com/uploads/7a9dfa092d.jp... ]

I can hardly see a difference when it comes to character polygon count.

Character polygon count in DMC is definetly higher. Nero/Dante's face, hands and clothing altogether have a really high count, I'm sure.

Depends, I actually enjoyed DMC3 a lot more than I did NG, actually. Was a lot harder to me. Different strokes for different folks really. Both are awesome games, and are both now on the 360

Both games are pretty much in the same league visually. If there is any advantage I'll give DMC is that its environments are more well thought out and better designed.

Not to put down LP or DR as both of them are really cool games with a nice visual style, but i think the fire demon boss is visually cooler than anything in both those games. Though all three are awesome, art direction is a major factor to consider when looking at the visuals of these games.

The original DMC was almost as good as NG, gameplay-wise. The only area it surpassed NG in was atmosphere and style. Every other DMC game has sucked, as I'm sure this one will.

Looks great, the details are incredible. Looking at one of the first gameplay screens, you notice the wave of heat from the sword alters the background, giving it a ripple effect. Nice.

That's not really new, DMC1 did that with the sparda sword.

I wouldnt say every other dmc sequel sucked. DMC3 was a fantastic game IMO, one on par with Ninja Gaiden Black.

That's not done by xboxyde by the way! My best guess is the website this scan is from is just pissed that jeux-france always published their scans on their website ... just a guess!

LP [ http://www.image-serveur.com/uploads/7a9dfa092d.jp... ]

I can hardly see a difference when it comes to character polygon count.
From these two pictures the background of DMC uses lower quality textures and is blurred out to use higher quality textures in the foreground. If you look at textures other than dante's face like his shirt you will notice lower quality textures their as well. Whereas in LP texture quality in the foreground and background are high resolution and are more detailed which should be expected due to the 360's larger pool of texture ram. (512mb opposed to ps3's 256mb of video ram because it is not unified).

DMC if it is not in 1080p on either console it should be superior on the 360. But it is Capcom if they manage to actually use the cell as it hyped up to be then they should be about to produce more particle effects and ultimately have better animation but I have yet to see superior processing in a ps3 title.
