finally, a DiRT game that actually looks decent. weather and track variety seems to be in there (finally there is rain and snow and mud, not just dust and gravel). now all they have to do is remove all the crap vehicles and stick to rally and we're good to go. maybe make the handling less arcady too. so far so good. i'm sure they'll manage to ruin it tho by sticking with the same god awful americanised "extereme" approach to rally. mcrae must be turning in his grave.

Looks great. Snow + mud + rain = pure awesomeness . Hope there are more rally tracks/races than in Dirt 2. Hated rally cross challenges with 1 track in 3 locations.

just make it less american. I dont want drivers asking me for group hugs after a race..or exchanging their facebook profiles during a race.

Notice they've dropped the Colin Mcrae

I could not say if that was pure CG or rendered with the game engine?. The last part with the exploding track looks to be a real live stunt even.

Shit, the whole trailer was going just fine with snow and rain in rally, but then suddenly it takes a drop to America and start seeing cars jumping and drifting under a truck....Urrghhh *facepalm*

Having played Dirt 2, I know this game will focus more on X-Ga(y)mes and Bajas than proper Rally.

And you know that Dirt3 will have shitty rally when Ken Block is the main star of the game....

LMAO. Let's get more people whining about America in here! Wah, this game has too much variety! Wah, I hate seeing other cars on the track! Granted, some of the extreme crap is over the top, (exploding truck)but some of the other additions actually make the game interesting. If a boring ass game with one car driving down a deserted road would actually sell well, they would make one.

I actually enjoy the rally parts of the game, but to have a whole game centered on one car racing against a clock? That is lame. A little variety never killed anyone people. Quit fricking crying and stop buying the game if it makes you so damn emotional.

Please stop trying to look smart, you're looking dumb saying that... Dirt 1(the best of the series) had actually a lot more variety than Dirt 2(the first had more types of vehicles AND more vehicles to choose in each class) AND had a lot more rally. A LOT more. It also had a lot of normal races and not just rally. Dirt 1 was a great game.

Even if you don't believe it, it has to do with America. You see, Codemasters(from UK - Europe) has been doing Colin McRae's rally games(great rally games, including real rally cars, real tracks and real drivers ?) for many years and they were indeed very good(some might say that Richard Burns was better, I agree) RALLY games. They also did some of the best racing games I've played(TOCA, TOCA Race Driver series).

They went on this generation of consoles to make Dirt and GRID as an upgrade to the respective series. The point is they've stopped worrying about great physics or simulation or even realism to just make great graphics to appeal the sensitive eyes of the majority of their new clients(american kids mostly, that didn't even know what rally was). Dirt 1 and 2 probably sold more that all those rally games they made the past generations. That's the sole reason that they're still making them. Or do you really think that Ken Block, Travis Pastrana and some fucking bimbos are really rally racers ? Hell no !!!
Ken Block is a fucking joke, just look at him. A fucking boy with an oversized cap on his head with some pubes going down his chin. He's just ridiculous, man !!!

We're not whining or crying, we just like proper race games and are Codemasters' fans since the early years. We don't like the fact that they dumb dow every game for a certain kind of species("Americania").

While playing Dirt 2, I had the feeling that they weren't honoring the name Colin McRae at all, in fact I felt they were just using his name on the cover to sell more. I'm not blaming Codemasters for being sellouts and greedy, I'm not blaming America for it's majority being dumb, I'm just sad that we(rally fans and whatnot) won't probably see a proper rally game for the near future being. WRC is coming out made by Milestone(great SBK games) but it looks like shit(the gameplay) so far(let's hope for a demo). WRC in GT5 isn't really gonna make it with made-up dirt tracks. And now this trailer looks very good as all the Dirt games look, but it ends with a premise that the game will favour X-Games and Gymkhanas instead of rally or great physics. Probably with even less cars.

As for Codemasters, the original fans are hoping that they redeem themselves by making a proper F1 game, it's a great test for them. Let's hope it'll be a great game.

They really like Ken Block slow-mo videos. Nice trailer. PT_GAMER has the longest post in history, thats for sure. For me, I really prefer the hard-core rally games like Richard Burns. Only about rally. Not some Baja and hectic Rally Cross. I want long long lonely roads and driving on the edge. So I would be in heaven, if Codemasters would creat pure rally game with their graphics and sounds engine. But I also understand, that they hit wider area of players with so much variety.

Wow. I've always loved this site, but it's very discouraging to see things like this. I don't understand how this person isn't banned, let alone put in boulet time, for spewing such ignorant hateful speech against another nation. I even agree with some of what he said about us needing to get a true rally game with better physics, but I would never say it in such a pathetic way.

On topic- While I don't like that they chose to go the CGI route for the trailer, I do really like the potential weather and track improvements they're hinting at.

The comeback of snow could mean they will add more rally stages!
That was the thing that DiRT2 needed most actually, you are not supposed to know a rally stage by heart :D
