I love DiRT 3 but this seems like a cash in. Just give me the next GRID/ Toca, it is long overdue.

I have a feeling this could be a good/fun online game.

After this im hoping we see a new rally IP from Codies as i feel Dirt has ran it's course now.

edit: Yeah a new Toca would be sublime

This is what the Dirt series should have been from the outset, instead of them making some kind of bastardised rallying experience. The devs really aren't quiet sure what a pure European rallying sim is supposed to be, apparently.

I don't think it's that they don't understand rally sims so much as they want to actually sell a lot of copies. It's the same reason why sim/tactical shooters aren't made anymore. If they sold well, you can bet your ass the market would be saturated with them.

As much as I would love a pure rally sim game (or a tactical shooter for that matter), I don't see any dev taking a chance on one nowadays. I think Dirt3 actually had a pretty good balance of events. More rally than the previous in the series, but there were some other decent events to mix things up. Sometimes I just want another vehicle to compete against...

Jees, games have advanced so far, yet they STILL cant get a car model to deform realistically. They just look like they bounce off each other like solid chunks of metal, and nothing crushes. Best ive seen is probably GTA4. Actually no, Rigs n Rods, and thats an Indie game lol

colin Mcrae would be turning in his grave if he knew what codemasters had done with the game he inspired them to make, to me this has become more and more like the need for speed franchise than an out right rally sim, it shouldnt even be called dirt it doesnt deserve that title anymore, what about calling it flatout, oh my bad thats already been done (running out of ideas much).

Nonsense, McRae was into all sorts of different racing and was part of the new direction before his death.
