Ubisoft® Announces Assassin's Creed® III Season Pass

Discounted Offer Features All Upcoming Downloadable Content, Including "The Tyranny of King George"

SAN FRANCISCO - October 3, 2012 - As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the colonies, the greatest hero of the revolution, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite power. The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend. Today, Ubisoft announces the Assassin's Creed III Season Pass offer, granting access to all five upcoming downloadable content packs to gamers owning the original game on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Microsoft's Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, and Windows PC.

Assassin's Creed III downloadable content will feature "The Tyranny of King Washington," an all-new single-player campaign told through three episodic content packs that lets gamers experience an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution.

"History is our playground – and AC teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period," said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. "While Assassin's Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things 'could have happened.'"

In addition to this all-new single player experience, Assassin's Creed III downloadable content will feature new maps and characters for an even more expansive multiplayer experience.

Assassin's Creed III Season Pass will be available for purchase for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $29.99 on the PlayStationNetwork. It can be pre-ordered at GameStop and Best Buy.

The Assassin's Creed III Season Pass releases within six months after the game launch at a 25% savings over the individual pack prices. Also, Season Pass owners will have access to the first downloadable content pack one week before other gamers.

All Assassin's Creed III Downloadable Content will also be available for the Wii UTM.

Assassin's Creed III will be available on PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system on October 30 in North America and Latin America, Windows PC on November 20 and on Wii U™ from Nintendo on November 18. For Windows PC gamers, an Assassin's Creed III Deluxe Edition will also be available for digital download.

I think this is also a sign of how expensive games are to make now.

I don't see anything wrong with this. This my friends is what used to be called an expansion (most PC games in the 90's had them) which you guessed it, cost money. It's a standalone alternate history campaign and once I beat AC III i'll most likely purchase. The best way to protest is not to buy it which from the sounds of it most of you won't but for me it's too good to pass up on killing an evil George Washington.

LA Noire with Rockstar Pass.

Here's a good debate on Season Pass, mostly due to Ryan Davis. "It's not a fundamentally corrupt idea, it's just bad when people fuck it up."

If the game has $60 worth of content, maybe not such a bad thing for super fans to basically "pre-order" the future DLC. It seems to be a good thing or bad thing on individual cases.

Holy shit Forza horizon has 50$ DLC planned and I thought getting AC III Season pass for 30$ is not clever.

King Washington....I LOVE THIS CONCEPT! I wish they would have included the first episode of this dlc, in the Freedom Edition (Collector's Editiom for the US) since it costs $120!

It's a great move from T10. Now people will stop completly from being moronic idiots and stop forking $ for shitty car packs. Maibe 5$ for 3 cars you gave them a chance, and then theother, now theey want the whole pie, so I hope people learn.

And lol, there won't be no tracks, this isn't Forza Motorsport.
