About 14 years ago, I was 14 years younger and I remember being blown away by Duke Nukem Forever's E3 trailer. Little did I know I would talk about the game's final release on a website dedicated to video games in 2011. As you will see, Duke shows his age, both graphically and when it comes to level design. Still, the game is a good laugh, but you have to accept a huge leap in time, which very few people will be ready to in my humble opinion. The console version suffers from many slowdowns and awfully long loading times, but things are smoother and faster on PC. The videos are from the PC version in 1080p and 30 fps but the game obviously runs at 60 fps.
Update: Two gameplay videos added.
Update 2: Last video added, so you can see Duke's legendary finesse.

This is a trip into my past,
and I am just glad Gearbox did what they did !
Thanks !

Commented on 2011-06-11 21:10:45I'd give it 5/10 based on that it was kinda fun but nothing memorabl. The very definition of a middle of the road kind of game. Don't expect too much but if you liike Duke, don't be afraid to pick it up...more or less :)
I played the PC version though, so i don't know anything about performance issues. It ran at a steady 60 fps constantly with everything set on Ultra.

Got some dyslexic devs working on this.
Looks like an HD remix of an Xbox 1 game.

Commented on 2011-06-13 13:28:56The game's in no state to be released if the console demo's anything to go by..something now backed up by the reviews of the full retail. And if you're offered something so shoddy and frankly broken then its doubful that another title using the Duke name is going to sell in the millions.
Gearbox should have cut their loses with this..rather than adding to them, as i cant see this one selling well at all.
Commented on 2011-06-13 13:41:59 In reply to bleachedsmilesThe game doing well in UK - number one this week. I want to hear some numbers after 2-3 weeks. As i expected - no matter how shitty is, the game will sell well just because the box art say DUKE. :P
