Microsoft has released more Screenshots of their upcoming racing sequel Forza Motorsport 4. The title will be available on October 11th, 2011 in North America. No word on a European or Australian release date yet.

Looks good but we want great, I want to start seeing the night/ day cycles and weather integtration, not these highly saturated and refined the game what look like this from behind the wheel shots, no offense.

Just confirmed with that youtube interiors are not really rendered in replay/gameplay. shit shit shit!

EDIT: I take that back for now. On the top gear video it looks like it's all there, I see some detail and interior shadowing.

The graphics are very nice. Smoother than GT5 and without the cardboard cutout PS1 trees. Sorry but there are some eye sores in GT5 that don't make sense considering they worked on it for uh.. 5 years or so?

You can only push an engine so hard one standard hardware. I say it's quite amazing what they were able to accomplish on a PS3.

Lighting is very important if you want something to look important.

Which is why I can't wait for the day Ray tracing becomes standard in games!

Yeah there's something about the lighting, Turn 10 just can't get it right even after 3 games on 360... honestly they all look the same

lol @ all the haters do enlighten us as how all turn 10's games look the same, for a start every video, screen shot and live demo of forza 4 looks 10 times better than forza 3, what i think you lot are finding hard is that forza 4 looks more realistic than GT5 but you just refuse to accept it, from flat trees and ps1 reflections and not to mention a serious amount of popup in the rear view mirror on GT5 unless its had a shit load of patches to fix these problems among others "out of track glitch", at least turn 10 get it right first time every time again how many bug fixes has GT5 had so far lol and honestly how did the shadows in GT5P look better than in GT5 ???.

I think he's saying the lighting looks all the same machinehead. Though personally I think it's improved, but they still aren't quite there yet. Btw why is everyone saying "ps1 reflections" about GT5? that was one of the things they got very, very right IMO and again something that edges it for GT5 in comparison to these screenshots.

they are saying that the lighting model and general overall look is not as realistic as GT5, and its not. compare photographs side by side and you will see. not to say f4 doesnt look good, turn 10 have done a good job moving forward from forza 3 as i did like that game but they have this dark edge around every car/panel that makes it look drawn. GT5's look natural in their environment

It's actually the tires and tire rims that are off in these pictures. The texture and lighting is flat and cartoony. Everything else is pretty much damn near perfect and would be hard press to tell if it was a real life photograph or render if not for the tires
