Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

Valve gave us the chance to play a little bit of one of the most awaited games, Portal 2. Regarding the plot, Portal 2 starts several years after the first one. Our dear AI of Aperture Science has come back and is very upset. This video is in 3 parts, first one now, the next very soon.
Update: 3rd part added.

Looks amazing. The first portal was brilliant and I expect this to be just as amazing. It was funny as hell seeing Gabe on the Sony stage. He actually looked nervous lol.

I can't wait to hear all the clever lines they have for this one

This reminds me that I still need to play the first Portal. I hear it's for free on Steam? Do I need a credit card for that or something?

If it really is free you should be able to download it straight away.

Whether it's good or bad, I have a feeling the general consensus on the internet will be that its TOTALLY BAD ASS...
I'll wait for some hands on first, cause I know they're going to recycle the story elements and gimmicks of the first.

Damn, they updated the Source Engine. I really like all the animations in the game.

looks like a new engine to me. Very impressive.

Not too sure about the voice though... reminds me too much of the "tree of temptation"

Voice for for the ball robot thing is terrible. Sounds like just some random coder Valve found in the office.

Nicest Source Engine visuals to date though, by some way. Maybe they're finally upgrading the engine.

not a new engine, unfortunately. the sparks and the water foam effects are dead giveaways

I can imagine you actually being daft enough to view that awesome footage and tut to yourself about the quality of the water foam

This could very well be a new engine or a heavily updated old one.
It's far from release so it might end up looking even better!

Must buy anyways.

It really freaks me out how many advanced moves you can pull off now. With great power comes great responsibility, or in this case, super hard puzzles.

you took that the wrong way. the footage looks awesome, the updates to the source engine are awesome, it's just clear it's basically the same engine from the way those effects are rendered. it's only unfortunate because an entirely new engine might give valve more freedom during development and might make development easier

Developing a new engine would make development easier? Whoa.

It'll still make me feel motion-sick after half-an-hour's play. That's why I still haven't completed Half Life 2 or Portal... Don't know why, it just does!
