Hopefully it plays really well. It has a lot of potential.
LOL!
but i want say sony is a big lier
There's going to be a lot of people laughing their socks of to this lot of images.
I'm disappointed and potentially depressed.
As for this game, I think it looks great. I love the muddy, chaotic races in games like Flatout and Rallisport 2, and I miss games like Motorcross Madness. This looks to capture both.
The GRAW footage wasn't real and the product didn't live up to it, people got their panties in a bunch to a much lesser extent because their fanboyism covered the damage. Here it's open season on stuff that doesn't live up to target render (which in the first place is a really weird concept) simply because people have no invested interest (or soon, money) in the product.
So yeah, I think this place is gonna get worse than Xboxyde, and I think we'll get about 0.2 seconds to be excited about a new game/new media until the XY mob comes and points out how bad everything looks. Sort of usual Xboxyde fare in other words, except faster and with less people holding back.
But this game I think will look pretty sweet in motion and it is a buy for me, I love dirtbikes and ATV's and this will probably be a very funny game.
We'll see how it plays though.
The pre rendered footage has alot of clay and mud flying all over the place with tire marks, screenshots seem to focus on alot of dust instead.. what gives?!
Not, just kidding. But its still pretty blurry...

All the games are giving off a 'romantic novel' kind of atmosphere :)
UT2007 doesn't seem to be doing it to the same degree, though.
We all know it's not a requirement for PS3 games, but it's oddly coincidental atm.

Personally I think fans should give them hell -- that way they wont pull this crap again. Excellent PR, and if I were the CEO I would have done the SAME thing!, but as a gamer I don't like it.
As a heads up, a number of media outlets are being very cynical toward a number of the "not playable" demos at E3. Eurogamers even made a number stiff comments on such like, "And now the CGI".
The disparity between the playable games (which look great) and the stuff from last year is pretty huge. I don't see why we should ignore that.
Trolling is NOT acceptible, but since the CGI's were called gameplay we have to expect some form of dissappointment. Calling people idiots and obnoxious because they trusted Sony's Game Division COO is not very nice.
Good: Mud splatter and Mud particles, deformable mud, quite a few vehicles, a lot of vehicle variety (!!), appear to have suspension, looks to have GREAT gameplay, online!, overall nice vehicle poly deteail, spare tires (does this mean accidents where you have to change tires?!), pretty open ended road design (I see a car running sideways on a cliff!), nice dead trees,
Bad: Low texture quality on vehicles/players (motorcycle shot and hummer shot in particular), some low poly models, barren landscape, too much blur, wheels kind of sink into ground that even has grass and seems to do some odd clipping deal (i.e. not very realistic in my book), and again, WAAAAY too much blur.
The graphics are a mixed bag, more middle of the road IMO. The gameplay could be GREAT though. I am looking forward to playing this now that I have adjusted my expectations.

New video please!
