Yea, doesn't sound like TC Carson who's the original VA for Kratos.
Its supposed to be a much older Kratos so I think they were going for that. I heard it was the same VA on the giantbomb stream, but they might have been wrong.
I love this sooo much!!!! 3rd person is fitting my taste much more than previous games. This is more close and personal during fights....this is next-gen, my friends!
The fuck i just watched? Did they manage to ruin the gameplay? Not only that, but the camera is garbage. That happens when devs trying to make their games as cinematic as possible. -_-

Different? Just looks like uncharted/tomb raider/the order or any other cinematics drive AAA game. Which i suppose is great if that's what you are in to, but to say that this looks in any way different to other AAA action/adventure efforts at the moment is just wrong.
definitely looks vastly different from previous entries. which is what i wanted at this point. i was tired of the screamy kratos and the chain blades. there is actually subtlety to kratos now, and while its the same voice actor by the sounds of it, he sounds weary. this is pretty much exactly what i wanted. and it looks gorgeous.

Yeah, i miss that about older action games. The ones that actually let you feel cool for playing well rather than just watching the game be cool for you. S-ranking a mission in DMC feel better than any cutsene and/or QTE ever.
This is so different from the previous games that it is unrecognisable. If this were to be considered a new IP, it is mighty impressive but this is not God of War. I am very skeptical of the combat.
This is on par with Resident Evil 7 which I don't recognize as Resident Evil anymore.

i stopped recognizing resident evil as resident evil when RE4 was released. at least this looks creepy. this really surprised me in a good way, i imagine i'll be shitting my pants in VR.
Tatoo was the only indication for me that it is GOW game. BTW the musician playing it was also epic. Great way to start the show. It looks like it has, open areas much bigger world ?I love the past games with closed location and never had problem with fixed camera. They seems to have changed lots of things. I now looks like a TPS game instead of action-adventure game. I hope it is still action oriented. Visually looks great though.
This is what the series needed. Ascension was the end of the road for me and Kratos was a idiot. Now they are trying to flesh out his character, change the location and mix up the gameplay. And of course it looks spectacular. Couldn't be happier with this.
I'm not at all sold on the format of it. The combat looked like a bad shift to 'boring'. I was ready to let my hair down and enjoy some chaotic God Of War fighting, instead we've got "Press X for story" showing. I have nothing against those games, hold most of them in high regards, I just didn't want God Of War to become one.
I was very seriously disappointed by this showing.
I hope you all take into consideration that looking at the context of the story, it's very early in the game, maybe even the beginning. This level did look a lot like a "Tutorial" level with all the command prompt help assists, and no game I can think of throws all gameplay mechanics at the player at once.
I'm saying this because while the combat may look more simple than previous entries, it's most likely only the beginning of the game and it will get more in-depth and add more moves, weapons, techniques, powers, gear, etc as you progress through the story. Also, it's the game's first showing.
So let's please refrain from judging a combat system we barely know anything about. Let's wait for Sony Santa Monica's developers interviews where they talk more in-depth about the combat system and how it will work. Otherwise, we might as well just judge all games' gameplay mechanics according to their Tutorial levels - which would make all games look dumbed down to oblivion, gameplay-wise.
PS. Sorry if this feels like defending the game's combat system - it can be shit or great for all I know, but I read all comments and people are acting like if this is all the game's combat system has to offer, which taking the context of the story into consideration, it's just a Tutorial level.

We get it! You don't like these kind of games and that's totally fine but there a lot of other people who do. You don't have to shit on them everytime you see one. Whats great about games is that they are diverse so you can find the games that speak to you. I personaly like both story driven games and gameplay focused ones like Dark souls. I most definitely do not want all games to be just one thing because that's what i like. For what this game is, it does it great and that's what is important.

Well said. For some weird reason people think a gameplay demo represents the whole game. Hopefully there will be more depth added as the game goes one.
