Just imagine if two games like Fuel and Mass Effect had a child. Well, it would undoubtedly look just like Exo Rally Championship, the new title from Jay Weston, the solo developer who already brought us the excellent Exo One. In open environments spanning 10 km², you must compete in checkpoint races behind the wheel of futuristic 4x4s equipped with thrusters that let the driver correct their trajectory mid-air or cushion landings during the most dizzying jumps. There are numerous customization options, the physics engine doesn’t forgive even the slightest mistake, and it takes some training to really master the game's handling. The reception has been very positive so far and after playing the game for three hours, we can clearly see why. The only downsides are the absence of vibration in the controller (at least with a DualSense), the lack of support for adaptive triggers, and a few camera issues during descents when the car jumps.
