I've waited for a good F1 game for many many years now (I don't have a PS3). I just hope Codemasters doesn't screw this up with a central pivot like GRID. I like their rally games, and DIRT 2 is great, but GRID, not so much...

I see several problems with this game. First it's gonna be released in September, way too late into the season. Second it's done by Codemasters who have yet to prove they can make a nice driving model.

This more or less looks like a game for the masses rather than F1 fans.

I don't know why some people complain about the whole central pivot in Codemasters games, I love driving games, my father was a rally driver and he played some of the earlier Colin McRae Rally games with me as well, he still enjoyed them very much and I have lots of fun with them, I liked Grid, I though it was well balanced racing game compared to something like Forza 3 with which I became bored so quickly due to the bad game balancing and just plain boring. Grid made me exited, I felt the pressure of other cars, difficulty levels were well balanced too compared to 'ultra realistic' Forza 3.

Anyways, thats my own opinion, I respect yours ;)

i really hope it handles more like Forza than it does Grid, or dirt. Apparently they are focusing on the handling..adding more weight to the cars, and having it less "twitchy" - which Dirt 2 was crazy for.

I really hope they dont americanise the licence too... last thing i want is to over take shoemaker or button and have them offer me a hug for being so awesome

Oh for crying out loud, the filters are in...again! The light bloom on the 3rd pic (1st corner of Albert Park) just looks...wrong...!

Yeah, what's up with that?! It's just this horrible bronze/brownish hue smeared all over the screen...bloody awfull.

Let's see how much Codemasters fuck up the driving model this time around...

Brown filter - CHECK
Excessive bloom - CHECK
Darkened Corners - CHECK

Yes this is truly the EGO engine at its best. /s

Lets hope they throw it out and sort the lighting out. Then throw out the handling model from GRID (central pivot, stupid unrealistic handling, braking in like 10m), remove the twitchyness as seen in DIRT 2.

I'd actually just rebuild the lot.

Gimme a break. More Forza than Grid. How about more Geoff Crammond than Grid? Forza isn't that accurate either. How about some simbin too, for that matter. They know how to make a driving model on PCs anyway.

LOL, I don't think I could have said it better. I'm tired of the filters honestly.

i beg to differ. The latest codemaster games have all looked phenomenal and they all share one thing that pretty much no other racing game has - no sterile environments like Forza, GT and the rest. One thing the EGO engine provides is the feeling of atmosphere in the game. When I play GT or Forza I always feel I'm racing on a track where time is standing still; where no real life exist.

If just the handling could be alittle more advanced I'm sure we'll have a blast of a game.

Definitely getting it. Presentation, graphics will be pretty good I am sure but gameplay is important. Hopefully it will be more sim like. Arcade will be an epic fail.

Yeah can't wait for this game. I really like the action with the other cars, some nice crashes, ultra grip and supersonic brakes. No boring quali and only 5 laps like in Grid. I want to be able to go back in time when I do something stupid. I also like the codemaster games because they are well known of the way they steer. You can strafe like in a first person shooter. Its like you have 4wheel steering. It worked pretty well in Colin mcrae 2 but they kept it in their further non-rallye games.

Where in real f1 there are 3 overtakings in the whole race, in this game you probaly have 10 overtakings in 1 lap. And if you are in 1st place the AI will get a boost and when your last they will wait for you (same like in forza)
