F1 2010 being released today, we are now free to show you a few exclusive videos of Codemasters' latest racer. In the first video, we went to Belgium to show you a sunny practice lap, a cloudy qualification lap and finally an extract of the race itself. The second video is simply the replay of the second lap of the race in Spa. The last video will take you to Monaco and show you what a race can be like when being first on the starting line, and what can also happen when you get too confident.
The footage was captured with all driving aids deactivated, with tyre and gas simulation on and with the Fanatec driving wheel. The AI level was set to intermediate but there was still some interesting challenge for my early attempts.

Great :)
I'm playing the PC version, and it doesn't look much better than this maxed out. By that I mean: xbox360 version seems on par with the PC version.
Thank you for the videos
Of course you can always switch it off.
Codemasters has taken a different approach here. They've gone for realism and had to trade bumb mapping for a higher polygon count and more realistic look. The result is a much prettier game (on PC) at times but it seems that they didn't want to skyrocket the specs for this game so they focused on car models, realistic color pallette and tracks but the didn't put that much effort in environments and lightining.
The result is very satisfying to me, it actually looks astonishing at moments but they could've definitely improved the environments to make it a real pleasure to look at.
I mean, under the cover.
I mean, under the cover.
...Just not upwards... ;)
