As long as its back in the lush jungle its always good IMO.
Stray away from cities and crap.

I am very interested, I hope they add some sci fi twist to it, yes even mutants :D

PS. Please have a badass Main Theme like Far Cry 1, always hypes me up!

FC2 had a more interesting and unique setting but the game really fell flat very quickly for me. I hope this game offers a more diverse experience. It certainly looks awesome.

I want the next Rainbow Six game to use FC3's cover system. Why? 'cause it's actually balanced.

Since Killzone 2, more titles are using it now.
Its a pretty good way to do it anyways (unlike Deus Ex 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas).

I think the new Rainbow Six game might have this cover system as well, they should.
Changing camera perspective is annoying IMO.

It seems the gameplay is awesome too going from what we have seen, weapon feedback is there, no bulletsponges, nice animations.

Im very impressed all in all, but then again I didn't played FC2 so I can't say exactly how's teh gunplay/gameplay stuff only to what I can see.

Everything looks pretty decent to me as of now except for how close your view is to the iron sights. If you did that in real life you'd lose an eye.

FC2 had great basic mechanics it was just extremely repetitive, relatively unrewarding and boring as hell.

So true lol
Well I hope they have a bit more modern weapons with scopes on them, I dont like using ironsight.

I agree, it was good at start but got boring as hell, and was broken with the AI (they could find you from a super long distance), the clunky driving...etc.).

I hope Far Cry 3 is nothing like Far Cry 2 except the gunplay which I found very nice.
Good thing the enemies in FC3 isnt bulletsponges, quick kills :)

Yeah I made it about 10 hours before I started to find the whole experience to be a grind. It's a problem with a lot of sandbox games, really.. and a lot of Ubisoft games too :D

I wish they went back to that sort of setting and improved on it though. The only other place you're going to get that sorta safari settings is one of those crappy hunting games :D

Or make a minigames in wich you hunt lions and other animals, like sidequest for some stranger that wants some Lion fangs, the sidequest could take hours even days to complete cause you have to search for it first then set a trap then camouflage yourself like Arnold in Predator and then go for the kill, could be awesome.

:P

I hope not; this doesn't need sci-fi.

The story sounds pretty good based on what I've heard so far.

Well I loved the thick jungle feeling in FC2, really loved it, kept trying to find missions that put me back there.
IMO the unique setting is good, but I mean c'mon, it was pretty much a wasteland, open field of...nothing, nothing interesting to see.

I prefer the lush jungle, or better yet...the thick jungle feeling with fog, very nice.

Fair enough, there is always Crysis 1/Warhead :D

As long as its good.

The music sounds fantastic too, reminded me of John Powell's work on Green Zone and Brian Tyler's work on Rambo 4.
Intense and awesome action tracks.

Nah, screw sci-fi. The nutcase from the original E3 vid is more than scary enough.

Looks like some RPG elements, what with the loot (SD card, Ivory Statue) and the Skill Point note on the UI. I might finally get my wish for a polished and non-frustrating Xenus game! (Boiling Point and White Gold were chores)

What's the tropical jungle filled with that is so much more interesting? More foliage? Fun, interactive foliage? Yeaaa... There are even some borderline tropical areas in FC2 anyways.

It's beautiful but it's played out. The Savanna was much cooler.

And this is why I prefer the sandbox shooter gameplay rather than trigger-heavy scripting in most shooters that become repetitive on reloads or consecutive playthroughs.

Too bad they're backing away from the risky mechanics of 2, that allowed for emergent situations, but then Far Cry 2 took that from STALKER, so this game probably has different inspirations.

Yeah the tropical jungle has been done to death, but I still like it, and prefer it over FC2.
