Why is "clutching your chest/necklace" to show emotion such a huge thing in japan? Its done to death any almost all of their anime and movies... Every time i see it i laugh, its become like a drinking game for me in all of their media.

These images do not do justice to the quality of the TGS 2014 trailer here on GamerSyde. Game looks much better than these images' quality.

And the quality of the animations is top notch, like when Noctis is being helped to get up by Ignis and Gladiolus goes to top one of those elephant type creatures.

No idea why Square Enix didn't take a screen directly from the game, like almost every publisher does.

Japan has alot of traditional crap they make their characters do alot, like the peace fingers, girls having their knees close but lower part of legs aside, having two male characters facing eachother by touching their forehead...etc. alot of those typical weird stuff.

I am guessing this chest/necklace touch for emotion is for "touch-get-some-memory" stuff, its not only japanese stuff since i seen it in western games/movies as well.

There no way they could've got an open world game looking this good with so much going (as well as particle effects) without using low res character models which seems to be the case, but what ever lighting technique they're using and filter theyre using is doing wonders for them. They did have the production team behind advent children on this after all. This looks at a glance better than the witcher 3!

Character models looks really impressive. Have you seen the tech demo footage from TGS?

Every Japanese piece of entertainement is filled with this same cringe-inducing cliches. Its a main reason i've failed to get into 'iconic' movies, anime and game series countless of times. For me it overshadows whatever deep story and complicated character development it offers. Probably i will just stay away from any of it forever.

Yeah, i kind of understand it in anime since its hard to express emotion through 2D animation(possible but it takes a skilled animator) but when you have a full 3d world, thats just lazy. Cultural things are fine but there's a point when it breaks the 4th wall. Like with old black in white films with the female lead clutching their fists over their mouths to express terror! :/

No idea man, but Japan and culture/tradition, some stuff sticks and the public that gets them, gets it, so why change a formula that is so popular and works.

TGS Gameplay Of FFXV

I know, i know, why do they focus on a frog. it goes way back, to FFVII and even further. http://i.picpar.com/Queb.png

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I also can't wait to play FFXIII on my PC. and i also hope FFXV comes to PC as well. SE's been gauging the PC audience since last year according to these articles.

This game is in some serious need of colours, the all dressed in black emo j-pop boyband crew are completely uninspired and the environments and creatures are all in dull shades of brown and grey.

This is how the game looks, the game just looks lackluster in stills. Personally, I think the game looks pretty barren even in motion. Not hard to have fancy shaders when the environments are all fields with a few units.

Nope, it's super common. You don't even have to watch a lot of anime or play a lot of eastern games to know that. That pose is classic JRPG character/anime stuff. It's a lot less common in western culture.

I wish Square would just put Final Fantasy out of its misery. This looks comically bad, like the fever dream of a Japanese teenage girl who is obsessed with J-Pop boy bands.

As for the game itself, it's now a button masher. No more tactical turn based combat with a party of 3,4 or 5. Now you hammer the X button and your boy band avatar wins. It's beyond pathetic.

These characters are actually the right age according to 90% of square's games. Cloud strife was 21, squall leonhart was 16, and Zidane Tribal was also 16. It's probably because of SE's new standards of blending realism with anime that some people have begun to associate less with it.

Real world + anime = J-pop. at some point people will be able to see where it's going once tech improves. That being said, I sort of do miss the old days of non realistic looking characters. Still, that is not to say that FFXV doesn't look good; It looks great.

Words cannot express how stoked I am for this. This has the look and feel of what I've been wanting from FF since the days of FFVII/VIII. VERY glad to see us getting away from the androgynous male lead (Vaan & Tidus). Also, I love the art style, I can definitely feel the FFVI & FFVII in it.

Idk, nothing about this game even makes me think im looking at a next gen version. Id definitely have to say this could be done on PS3/360, graphics wise, and story wise as well.

They really should just throw everything out for the next game, and start fresh. A new concept, completely re-think everything. I know alot of the things people say they want changed in JRPGs would take away from it being a JRPG in itself, but there are simple game mechanics that could at least be modified to an extent, and that little of an adjustment would go a long way.

FF has never been something i was interested in, because when 7 came out on the original PS, i had just gotten my PS, and was playing all these games where you have complete control over your character. When i played 7, i didnt understand why i had to press the button on my controller, to press a button on the screen. for my guy to attack--which was turn based BTW (imagine being 5 and being used to smash em up action games, and then having to take a ''turn'' to hit an enemy)--so thats where my biggest peeve was.

Being much older now i want to go back and play them all but havent yet, but the thing stopping me from getting the newer FF games is that people i know (even FF fans) say the newer games are terribad.

Anyway hope it ends up being good n maybe ill try this one.
