PC Xbox 360 PS3 PS2 Xbox

The following images were put up from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, to be announced later today. The game is rumored to be under development for Xbox, PS2 and Xbox 360, and more details will probably be released tonight. Looks great except for some smaller details (as the doors), but the game will probably not be released for some time.
Update: According to a press release we just received, the game will be released on current and next gen systems, and on PC.
Update #2: Release date is Autumn 2006. More info in comments 19:36.

Yeah, I saw those. Looks like a game along the lines of GRAW (ported and made much better for 360). I just hope they make it more realistic than the last one.

Ubisoft are pole position as far as next-gen visuals go. Utterly gorgeous.

I just hope it's more RS3 than Lockdown.

"Update: According to a press release we just recieved, it's Xbox 360 only."

Coming from Ubisoft? Doubt it. That game will be on PC or PS3, sadly.

/edit
uuuum, from the press release: ..von Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Vegas für PC, die nächste und auch die aktuelle Generation von Videospielkonsolen bekannt.

its says for PC, the next and actual console generation, so the exclusivity may only be some months and the game is scheduled for a fall 2006 release, but i guess that is subject to change

Ubisoft Goes All-In With Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas For Next-Generation Consoles

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM— 6th March, 2006 — Today Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced that it is developing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas for PC, next-generation and current-generation video game consoles. Scheduled for an Autumn 2006 release and developed by Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studio, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth iteration of the multimillion-selling Rainbow Six tactical shooter franchise.

The stakes are high when the world's most elite counter-terrorism unit enters Las Vegas, where over 36.7 million men, women and children visit each year. "Sin City," the home of the famous Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. What happens when one of the world's most famous cities is held hostage by terrorists?

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be Team Rainbow's next-generation console debut on the heels of the critically acclaimed Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced WarfighterTM and the highly anticipated Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double AgentTM. Today, with more than 13.5 million units sold worldwide, the Rainbow Six franchise is known as one of the best multiplayer experiences and is hailed for its immersive single-player games.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will push technology through graphics, artificial intelligence, physics and animations created by Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studios, which house some of the world's best talent, including Senior Producer Chadi Lebbos who was the lead on Rainbow Six 3®

"Rainbow Six is back and better than ever," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "Building upon the online success of the Rainbow Six franchise and harnessing the power of the next-generation experience, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be the benchmark against which all next-generation games will be measured. With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter being released this month to wide critical acclaim, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent also due out this year, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas makes a perfect addition to the Clancy series in 2006."

Looks good, i just wish game companies focused away from the whole war concept and made some great FPS games..aka area51, deux ex, perfect dark .. Getting abit bored of war influenced games..especially with GRAW coming out..i don't want anything else for a long time alike it.. even if the setting and environment is different.

yeah, but those people may not have the money right now and wait for the ps3, dont know, and the ps3 with the blu-ray drive WILL be cheaper than a stand alone blu-ray player :)

i wanted to post the press release here, but we get ours in german, so thx manager for posting it in english :)

There are a lot of REALLY bad "realistic" shooters out there though--when you look at the solid games set in a realistic context, there's actually no more of these style shooters than there are big profile Sci-Fi releases..atleast I don't think there is..

For example, all of the big up and comming FPS games on PC are pretty much science fiction--Quake Wars, UT2007, Prey, Sin, Half Life 2 Episodes, even Wolfenstien is more sci-fi than it is realistic/historical..currently installed on my PC the split is about 50/50--with COD2, BF2, and CSS representing the real or historical world..and Quake 4, Half Life 2 and...and I guess you're right...realism is winning, but it's close!

I'm actually a little concerned about the rumor that DICE would be making BF2142 next..because personally I'd miss the realistic context that the game is set in..along with the real weapons and stuff..what can I say I like guns.
