Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

It's now Need for Speed: Shift's turn to get a pretty nice video from the Gamescom's Showfloor.

Now that is a very impressive racing atmosphere!
Very dynamic cockpit view with all these bumps, head movement and such, it also feels fast and they got a lot of cars on track.
Not to forget pit babes, starting grid and stuff.
I guess this game will be winner on PC where performance depends upon your machine… I still worry about consoles thou… not having 60FPS is a problem for me tbh.

Of all the racers I'm purchasing this Autumn, this is for me the most interesting. It's an unknown quantity. It looks great.

Last week I purchased a pc capable of playing this, now I have to decide pc vs ps3. Tried Race 07 on pc but playing in front of a 24" monitor vs 40" tv, is so different. Anyway, in either case, it looks promising.

Plug your PC to your TV then. It shouldn’t be a problem even without native DVI interface on the TV. There are DVI to HDMI cables for that.
I’m doing that myself. It is pretty awesome to play every PC game in native 1080p.

That’s why I’m thinking to buy this for PC as well… but I don’t want to preorder it because… well its NSF it could suck even on PC due to bugs and stuff.

Really nice. The PC version will look better but I hope the diffrence between consoles and PC version won't be TOO BIG.

Any word yet on how many cars are in the game? The physics looked pretty lame but it's really hard to tell in arcade racers until you actually play the game and get a feel for it. Still not happy how little weight i see in those turns though.

Graphics and presentation are wonderful though. I just hope this game can keep it at or above 30fps the entire time. A bad frame rate and this will all be a big waste of time.

Looks like a great arcade racer. Unsure I'll enjoy it though as I'm more of a sim head. That said, I did enjoy the PGR series. This will probably compliment GT5 and Forza 3 in my collection.

Thats all, two of em: BMW M3 GT2 and Porsche Cayman S are preorder and DLC only.

Btw. you guys are aware that this game got 4 different difficult levels for the physics, one which is supposed to be like GTR 2 and the refresh rate for the physics are 400Hz? - Good.
I just get the feeling this game is put up here by too many as arcade racer only, thats not the case. If the developer succeeds it is a hardcore simulation as well, probably more than Forza 3 and GT5.

Interview about handling and physics (German version): http://needforspeed.com/portal/site/nfs/news/detai...

They got tire deformation like Forza 3 as well. Just saying...
I too wait till it delivers but the chances are there that it does. For PC anyway because the 30FPS bullshit does not matter...

@Ishigami
Thank you a ton for posting all that. I'm now more excited than ever for this game. I new the GTR guys had something to do with this game, but assumed EA would tell them to dumb it all down for the masses. Sooo glad to hear the harder difficulties are more physics intense, instead of just a harder level AI like I was worried about.

Also glad to see most of my most recent cars in the game. That's always fun to drive your own car in a game lol. Silly i know, but I get a kick out of it. Scion Tc, Mazda Rx8, and Nissan 370z btw. Though i'm thinkng of buying a used Corvette instead.

Also really happy to see the bugatti veyron in the game, don't see that car in many games.

Well of course I agree on being cautious when dealing with EA and NFS but this game got the potential to surprise big time.
The game got 4 different levels for the physics, 3 different levels for the AI and two settings for the damage. Afaik you can combine these like you want to match your needs. That’s pretty customizable.
I don’t advise people to preorder it or something, hell no don’t give them money before they deliver, but it would be cool if people would not put it down to only being arcade just because of the name.

@ishigami
If you are right about being able to customize the physics, AI, and damage to your liking then I agree this game has the potential to surprise bigtime! I was hoping for something to take place of the gap left by no more PGR games, looks like this now has a really good chance of being as good if not even better.

But like most ppl have said, it's EA and NFS, so lets not get too hyped before we see a quality demo or something.

Visually, this game looks stunning. Can more than hold it's own against FM3 and GT5, and in some ways actually look more impressive than those two. However, if there is a niggle, it looks as if the cars are a bit light in the handling. Well, it looks that way from the vid, but its daft of me to assume until I actually play it.

If you want to laugh: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-09-need-for/5...
The problem I have with this we simply do not know is that the easiest physics, something in between or the simulation level? – We just don’t know.
If that’s a high physics setting I’m not going to buy it that’s for sure. But I don’t want to believe that because people from SimBim should know better.

Looks pretty good and smooth so far. Brands Hatch always takes me back to TOCA2 - and for me it's such a shame that the environments look so OTT in the NFS series.
