I've been asked numerous times to reencode our gameplay video of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue from the Game Convention at 60 fps. Well since I always try to keep my promises, there it is. As you can guess you'll need a powerful computer to play the 720p versions smoothly. Also worth mentioning is that the stream also runs at 60 fps.

And since some have been complaining about the environment outside the tracks in GT5 I paid special attention to it.. And indeed it's pretty sad to say that they are using 2D-sprits for crowd and trees etc.. All the detail obviously went into the cars themselfs, and the lighting, which like I said many time beofre are the best I've seen in any racinggame sofar.. But yeah, the rest is pretty lackluster, and I wonder if it will be the same with the physics and AI etc, have they been improved or not? Can't tell from a video.. To me it's obvious though that if they want to run this game at 60fps with 12-16 cars on track some serious comprises have to be made in other parts of the game.. PS3 (or Xbox 360 for that matter) is just not powerfull enough to run everything at that high (detail) level yet.. Maybe PS4 or next-gen Xbox..
Feels really really realistic, why haven't other racing games used this view before?

But when you've got 16 cars on track that look so great, with fully modeled interiors, with planned damage and weather effects, all running at 60fps... yeah, it can seem hard to believe! If they can do it, it will be a testament to PS3's power and their skill.
The only thing that bothers me with what's shown so far is that there's no head shake or movement in the dash cam. Hopefully they change that.
Also, thanks for the high quality video. This is why I come here!

Anywho, it looks really slick. The lighting on the cars is exceptional. But the movements of the hands on the wheel seem really unnatural. It distracted me the whole way through.
Wow, it looks really good.
Your car will likely be the only car with a fully modeled interior when in a race and if you look over at another car it will show an interior but with less textures and polys.

Turn 10 has a full on physics engine developed by a team at microsoft which was used for something far more complex then gaming. I dont know if Polyphony can match that.
steering wheel does NOT move at all!!!!!! You just see the hands on it sliding around it, but the steering wheel doesn't react naturally at all...dumb as hell.
And the steering wheel does turn by the way.

It will be the first GT I have bought since the amazing original on Playstation.
