Xbox 360 PS3

Codemasters is planning on releasing GRID in June on Playstation 3, PC, Xbox 360 & Nintendo DS, and inside you will find some more or less old images from the game. Some dated months back, other's from last week, but now we at least have them in the database. So enjoy, from the creators of Colin McRae: DIRT.

Codemasters fact sheet:
From the creators of one of 2007’s best racing games, DiRT™, comes GRID™ – a fast-paced, cinematic, all-encompassing racing game. GRID takes players on a world tour of beautifully designed race locations through Europe, the US, Japan and beyond. The game features the most extensive range of courses ever created by Codemasters, combining official racetrack/circuit challenges and drifting events, with road races and urban street competitions.

GRID embraces all types of racing, including traditional circuit courses in exotics in Europe, muscle car street races in the US, and drifting import tuners in Japan. Jump behind the wheel of some of the fastest, most powerful race cars ever created and take on your friends in the best that racing has to offer.

In any mode, on any surface, the car handling is sublime and the physics system is thrillingly accurate. A devastating new damage engine ensures players feel every bump in the road as they fight to keep control of their cars at breathtaking speeds.

GRID delivers electrifying race action – squeezing all the juicy bits out of the world’s best courses, cars and race styles to deliver one huge adrenaline rush. It’s all about what happens between the GRID and the flag!

KEY FEATURES:
· IT’S ALL ABOUT THE RACE: Codemasters Studios’ history of creating stellar racing titles, combined with AI and the ability of the EGO™ engine allow them to deliver GRID - a pure and cinematic race experience

· A GREATER, MORE DIVERSE, WORLD OF RACING: New and classic, track and street – conquer the greatest racetracks and then go beyond with road races and urban street competitions

· JUMP BEHIND THE WHEEL OF SOME OF THE MOST EXCITING CARS: Exotics, imports and beefy muscle cars are all available to race in hugely varied events with grids of up to twenty cars aggressively competing for the lead

· THREE DISTINCT RACING REGIONS: Europe, US and Japan are all beautifully designed, each with their own individual takes on racing:

o U.S.A – In thunderous V8 muscle cars, race diverse courses on city streets in flat out, door banging racing action

o Japan – Reject traditional Western racing and drift over to Japan for action the fringes of legality in industrial areas and back streets from dusk ‘till dawn

o Europe – Race the famous tracks dominated by Le Mans in some of the most technologically advanced cars ever created such as the Ferrari F430 GT, Lamborghini Murcielago GTR, Aston Martin DBR9, Koenigsegg CCXR and Porsche 911 GT3-RSR

· EVERYTHING THAT COULD HAPPEN IN A RACE PROBABLY WILL: A GRID race tests a driver’s skills at every turn -- crammed with high-impact moments such as, engine fires, tire blow outs, bump and runs, wild crashes involving flipping, spinning, and collisions with other cars and trackside objects

· ENHANCED EGO ENGINE DRIVES ALL NEW HIGH IMPACT CRASH DAMAGE AND SEQUENCES: Physics models will ensure that collisions and crashes yield the kind of spectacle that a Hollywood movie director would ask for. Slow motion will be used extensively to give replays the blockbuster treatment

· ONLINE RACING: Race your cars online in high-adrenaline multiplayer, multiple car events

There's a trailer out supposedly showing ingame footage. Looks absolutely incredible though I doubt it is actually ingame. I seriously hope to be proven wrong though.

Hopefully they'll fix the car physics/behaviour over DIRT. I'm usually not extremely picky in that regard, but the physics in DIRT were unbelievably horrible. Here's for hoping!

Sweet jesus. This is the number one game I'm watching and looking forward to. And if codies can live up to what that trailer promises. Then we are in for a wild ride.

Amazing!

Omg... im crying, lol. The artstyle looks so unique and beautiful.. Look at those first 5 shots, omfg..... Finally someone got the night-time racing atmosphere right. Just. wow... Wowzors... Omgzors, holyshitsors, so prettysors..
Its like.. Its not just polygons and textures, its atmosphere.. Which has been lacking in SOO MANY racing games lately.
(forza 2?!? amazing physics & amazing game, but no atmosphere or passion what so ever)

Give us more PASSION, like in these shots! PASSION MAAAAAN!! Ferrari, lamborghini, pasta, mozarella, extra virgin olive oil, you get it :D

I'd call bullshots on all of them (well photomode or so). That said pic 11 shows what we can expect from the carmodels, looks good but not as great as Codemasters wants us to believe. The enviroments however look very good, some atmospheric streets there also.

And yes, they first have to come up with a better physics model before I get excited about that one.

Thats the best looking racing i've ever seen, by quite a margin too! The car models look great, fantastic lively backgrounds, A ton of cars on screen at 60fps and still looks this good??? It seems too good to be true, the physics will probably be pretty avg.

Uhh, in SD quality? What am I supposed to see? This may be ingame but it's still a replay. What I can see however is that the enviroments are very well made, don't expect it to change much in actual gameplay.

I'd say the video looked awesome, and it looks great, but not in a 'graphics way' exactly. The car models are pretty bad, the effects are pretty simple, like that sun rays effect is obviously just a alpha texture.

Still looks great for what it is, the physics could make this game.

I gotta watch it on my PS3 now because my PC gets really choppy when watching it.

Here we go again, "Actual Gameplay Footage", and all we really get is REPLAYS. Yeah, I know, the game engine used is the same, but we all know that replays like that have additional processing thrown at them. Polyphony Digital are as guilty with their footage of GT5 as well.

Gameplay, to me, is when PLAYING THE GAME, not just watching a replay.

Click on the HD version, you can even download it. It's 720P 60fps. (It's not that well encoded though.)

What trailer were you watching? These car models are at least as good as PGR4 and GT5 and the effects were incredible, especially the lighting!

Yawn. I guess you really have to be into racing games to appreciate this. Problem is, I find racing games horribly boring unless they have the words "Rock" and/or "Roll" in the title.

Because codemasters is the publisher, not the developer.
