Rise & Shine will finally be available on PC and Xbox One tomorrow, and in case you don't remember, we have already talked about the game on several occasions on Gamersyde. Since we were able to complete the game in time, we have a verdict to share with you guys, and a few videos of the PC version to go with it. We will also be live for 30 minutes tonight if you have questions about the game, starting from 9:15 CET.
Verdict
Thanks to its awesome graphics and well-balanced mechanics, Rise & Shine clearly has some solid arguments to put forward, provided you don't mind the fact that it is based on trial and error. Spanish developer Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (:breathe:) has done an amazing job, creating a game which require skills and patience, without becoming too frustrating in the process. Its only real flaw is that it doesn't take much more than 3 to 4 hours to complete, which is bound to disappoint some players.Given the game features a plot, it would have been possible to add a few twists to make the game longer, but it would probably have been too difficult to tackle for this team of 4 people only. Considering the level of polish they have achieved, what they have been able to do is still very impressive and this first game is particularly promising for their future projects. No Spain, no gain.
- On the plus side
- Gorgeous visuals
- Excellent soundtrack
- The references to other games and the humor in general
- Gameplay mixing TPS and shoot them up mechanics
- Demanding but not unbeatable
- Not too exepensive (€/$12.99 at launch on Steam and €/$14.99 on XB1)
- On the downside
- Too short (3 to 4 hours tops)
- Why reveal the plot twist so soon?
