Nine months after its initial announcement, Valiant Hearts: The Great War is finally here and we've been able to complete the game in time for its release. Verdict

Valiant Hearts: The Great War could certainly have benefited from more content and a bit more challenge, but through the stories of four individuals Ubisoft manages to pay homage to a generation of men and women long since passed. The conflict is presented with humility and respect for those involved simply because it focuses on individuals rather than the ideologies which led to the war. Karl, Emile, Anna, and Freddie want just one thing; some form of serenity obtained through different accomplishments. More than mere patriotism, it is family and friendship through which this game is built, two values which helped give our elders the courage necessary to protect us through sacrifice. Through it's sharp art direction, striking sound design, and the wonderful simplicity of the narrative, Valiant Hearts is not only a worthy tribute to the memory of our great-grandparents but also worthy of players today. It's a great bargain right to kick off the summer before the inevitable game drought begins.

About how long is the game?

It's hard to say exactly but I would say around 5 or 6 hours.

Oh, not too bad then. I've got sniper elite 3 to play this weekend, but i might give this a download too. Love the style of it, and all the trailers seem to wash over you with "feels".

Game's only problem is being too easy. Even with hints off, puzzles are straight forward and not requiring any thinking.

You're missing the point. This isn't really a game, it's an interactive story more interested in immersing you in the atmosphere and suffering of the Great War.
