second pic looks quite nice...the first, not so much. Bit weird they'd release either of those pictures thought tbh. I guess it gives a hit to how big the worlds going to be

I don't think we can expect incredible miracles from these consoles anymore..BUT...look at this comparison...i'm really liking what i see, the difference is very significant. IV looking like waterpaint....and this is all gone in the V shot.

Yea, Rockstars engine is has really improved quite alot since GTA4. The lighting in the GTA5 trailer was really impressive.

Though no doubt the animations are really going to make it all pop.

I'd love some PC screens. Are we going to have to wait forever for a port? Max Payne 3 landed immediately.. so I guess there's hope.

Wonder if they finally give players a choice of a character. One of biggest reasons why I never played any GTA games before was a set main hero. A terrible main hero.

Are some of you smoking crack? The first screen looks fantastic and shows more than the second one. For a start, it's showing off the scale of the city and it still manages to look tidy, much more so than GTA4 was, as it had that blurriness over everything as it went off into the distance.

Wow, that really does show how much the engine has improved. Glad they got rid of the blurry mess from GTA IV. Still, I think this is the least hyped I have ever been for a GTA title though.

I really think they should have waited and launched it with the new consoles, but I realize that's probably not such a smart idea sales wise. I did enjoy IV, but nowhere near the previous 2 titles. I just don't see this being much different from IV, just with a new setting and characters.

To me it's all about the sandbox and story which Rockstar nails 99% of the time. GTA is the best satiric game series of all time and i'm sure it will tackle the global economic depression and showcase the contradictions of American society. Not only will the soundtrack be on par with everything they've done but I think we'll be in for a treat when it comes to how diverse the world and gameplay will end up being.

edit: IMO this game looks PHENOMENAL . It will be much more impressive in action.

Story in GTA IV sucked hard imo. No motivation AT ALL!

They should also work on their gun-play mechanics. The auto-aiming-tagging feels very dated and makes the shooting kind of boring.

I know there's an option to turn it off, but this makes the game almost impossibly hard to play. I remember an early mission (in GTA IV), that I failed several times without auto-aiming.
Once turned on, I nearly lost no health at all. (That was also because, I simply saw the enemies to late, cause they were perfectly camouflaged in the blur-soup, the game was)

They should make some semi-auto-aiming.

Plus I dont want to play 10hours+ of stupid tutorial missions in the beginning AGAIN.
Be more creative with the missions, Rockstar! With one of the best sand-boxes out there, there must be sth. mor innovative than riding from point A to point B...

Mainly i agree that they need to soup up the actual gameplay. How hard can it be to make some decent damn shooting? Also some missions just get on my damn tits. The main reason i stopped playing GTA4 was i got to a mission that just killed me out right and every time i dies i wen't back to the wrong goddamn side of the island. I was informed later that you could get in a cab, but i didn't know at the time and i never put the game back in.

Just pick up the mouse when you want to shoot people and never worry about the horrid lock-on and cover systems again :P

While I did enjoy IV, I agree with most of your statements. I did play IV with the auto aim off, and it was pretty decent, but like you said, WAAAY too hard, since it wasn't balanced to play with it off. I ended up giving up about 75% of the way through when I ran into a couple missions I just couldn't beat without it.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they do some sort of a hybrid GTA/Max Payne style combat. Get rid of the auto targeted, and replaced with different levels of aim assist. Keep the cover, but speed up the movements, and allow for more exciting combat with dives, slides, etc. Two more things I would love to see would be a great new melee/fighting system, and some body damage from weapons. I'm not talking about dismemberment or anything, but they should at least have bullet holes like in MP3...
