Images Xbox 360 PS3 Wii

Activision releases five images (did you figure it out ?) of Guitar Hero V. The design is frankly disgusting and unless they've fixed the gameplay, there's techically zero x zero reason to quit Rock Band for this.

Have to completely agree with Snoopers. However, with The White Stripes, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Johnny Cash their line up is looking far better than what Rock Band has been delivering.

Not exactly sure what's so disgusting--gotta be a little clearer. Though really I think a real instrument beats both both Guitar Hero and Rock Band any day. That one will actually get you chicks =P

"Hi I'm not interesting or have a personality so I get chicks by playing instruments"
;)

Snoopers I must ask, I'm no GH fan (or RB fan) but what's so disgusting about these shots?

His "real instruments" argument kinda rings true with me, because while I would LOVE to have Rock Band or the Guitar Hero drum set, I can't bring myself to drop the cash to buy it when I could just buy some real gear for my real drum set with that money :P

I don't find anything disgusting in the visual design, but to each its own, I guess.

Mmh. I never played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, because i never saw some great bands on the songlist. Only Rock Band 1 has one really amazing Song DLC: At The Gates Blinded By Fear. I hope GHV will support more extrem Metal

Way to be unbiased journalists guys

Its a matter of taste. Some people like RB, som like GH. I prefer GH just because for some reason, the timing feels a lot better to me, and I do kind of like the style a bit better, although neither styles particularly interest me, honestly. I play for the game.

It hink GH ahs gone straight down the shitter since Neversoft took over. GH2 had a great mix of songs and great button sequences (i'd call em "steps", but that feels is just sooo DDR). That just got the boot totally in World Tour. I often find myself wondering why the notes come in such weird patterns (like notes missing in really odd palces, totally mucking up the rythm), supposedly to make it easier to play i guess, or why the fuck i'm playing an obvious keyboard part on the guitar. Not only that but there are way too many songs that just don't belong in a game like this but popularity overrules songs fitting the game. So yeah, screw guitar whore for all i care. I agree with previous poster, i'd rather just save the money and upgrade my real guitar :P

I can't stand GHWT for the simple fact the calibration won't go in the direction I need it to.

...actually it's more than that, the interface is childish and the graphics look like those awful cut scenes in the Tony Hawks games. Plus they're not quite as entertaining with the DLC. RB just looks and plays more professional and "grown-up" on the whole to be honest. I do like the GHWT instruments though.

I'm more than happy with RB1/RB2 250+DLC Songs on my harddrive, my LesPaul,my Explorer and the ION drumrocker.
I don't know why there's always the "play a real instrument"-statements.
RB/GH is all about fun.
You don't have to know every single note by heart.
You can just start with the easy difficulty and have some fun even though you're not playing that much of the songs. You can progress really fast, much easier learning curve for those who don't have the time or don't want to spend it and have fun with mates who are coming over even if they have never played any of the music games before.

I play guitar and sometimes drums in real life but I wouldn't want to miss my RB/GH because all of them are so much fun and stand for their own...

I dont see whats so disgusting about it.. everyone loved this type of character design when Harmonix did it in GH2, I don't want both series to have the same look and I am glad I can enjoy both and have fun with both unlike a lot of people it seems. GH:M already fixed the issues that GH:WT had in the engine.. which I think is overstated anyway.

DLC cannot improve the engine.. and also DLC songs are more expensive than buying a disc

Seriously, why are you guys even commenting on the graphics and character designs of a MUSIC game? I bet you complain about the ugly cover art of a movie as well. And how smelly a new book is.

I was also quite disappointed with the RB2 song selection. And yes.. I know what DLCs are for, but still.. $$$
