Xbox 360

Ubisoft sent us these new images, along with a trailer, of Naruto: The Broken Bond. It certainly shows quite an improvement graphically compared to their previous game, but will it be enough to counter the impressive PS3 game by Namco-Bandai?

Mmm, a little bit better than I spected. It´s not the Naruto one on PS3 (Wich is awesome in graphics and animations), but seems to be interesting.
Konoha city is very well done here

It's really silly to keep comparing this to the PS3 Naruto game. The PS3 one is a simple straight up fighting game, but this is an adventure game with fighting elements. They're very different.

I really can't understand why the devs didn't just create there own IP to use the brilliant engine used in this title. It didn't even have to be a Naruto game at all. It could have been a nice cel shaded rpg with another name and a new IP.

I think this game might in some ways have better lighting and textures than the ps3 game, but the animation and modelling isnt of the same calibur...overall Id say it looks pretty good, though... The ps3 game does have an explorable mode as well. That game really captures the anime feel though

Looks awesome! It has a better atmosphere than the last one. The PS3 is great also, but is a different kind of game. So comparing graphics isn't really fair. I do think they both do a good job. And as a fan, I just have to get them both :P

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "Adventure mode" in the PS3 version just a series of fights with a storyline?

no, you get to explore "whatever its called" village (sorry, not a naruto fan) just like the 360 version. im not sure if the story is seperate from that mode tho? it seems like the game will have a story mode which will be fights linked via cutscenes, adventure mode which lets you explore and collect stuff in that village, and an "arcade" mode where you can fight a friend or the CPU (seen in the demo)

360 version from what i've played of the first and seen of this, seems to have a really good exploration mode, but i didnt like the combat at all. ps3 version has hella good combat, but might not deliver on the exploration factor as well as the 360 (although we've seen very little of it, so who knows)

It looks a lot better than Rise of Ninja after all, PS3 version is gonna rock a lot but this one is also a nice game to play, at least I enjoyed RoN so I suppose I will enjoy Broken Bond even more.

I don't understand where you're coming from. Ubisoft have got the Naruto license and wanted to make Naruto games so created this engine to make them. What's the problem? Besides, I think they are using this engine to create a game for their own IP (although not a new one) because I think it's the same engine that's being used for the new Prince Of Persia. (By the way, I'm not a Naruto fan, I don't know anything about it, and I haven't even got around to getting the first game as there have been too many other games I wanted. I just don't understand what the problem is.)

Because creating new IP requires a lot more than just "making" it.

Using existing IP, popular one at that, somewhat guarantees sales and requires much less marketing as people are already familiar with it.

Remember it's a business and there less risk doing it this way.

This one looks good too. I don't own a 360 so i'll get the PS3 game, but I'm happy that Naruto has a good game on the MS side too. I love all the cel shaded games that are coming out, especially Prince of Persia is shaping out to be a gem.

I still don't get it. They've got the Naruto license and obviously want to make Naruto games so they create a great new engine for those games. Would you have preferred if they had a crap engine instead? People are always complaining about crap licensed games so Ubisoft make a good one and now you're complaining that they're "wasting their talents" on a licensed game??? Talk about hard to please, lol! If you hate Naruto in general and wish that this engine wasn't created for it then just say so, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree judging by its popularity. (Although, like I said, I've never seen Naruto so don't care either way really.) Plus who says they're not working on a completely new and original IP that uses this engine? I'm sure they've got plenty of secret games they haven't announced yet.

you cant really compare them though, as this is an RPG, and the ps3 version is simply a beat'em up right? I look forward to the day when they can make an rpg look like the ps3 Naruto game.

No both game are action adventure games;
- both have exploration;
- both have RPG elements in them and collectible items,
- both have fights though Broken Bond is a 2D fighter and Ultimate Ninja Storm is a 3D fighter
- both have 25 playable characters (though PS3 version has ten more characters not playable per se, but which can be used as support during fights
- both will follow the storyline of the first Naruto series through their main quest up to ep. 135 (though BB will pick up were ROAN left, and NUNS will start from the begining)

Basically both games are the same. But even if we know NUNS will focus a little more on the fighting aspect that doesn't mean it will have less adventure mode than BB, especially when we know the PS3 game will last well around 30 hours.

it is, not in the sense that its 2 dimentional pixels, but fighting is primerily on a 2 dimentional plain, just like the first 360 game. where this game could be compared to something like tekken where fighting is primerily 2D, the ps3 version is more comparable to something like powerstone, since you fight in an open "arena".

Have you ever even played ROAN? When fighting someone the side step just as much as in other 3d fighters like Tekken, DOA , etc. The difference in their fighting systems and movements are that the PS3 game is very simple 2 pull of moves and the movement is like an adventure game in the fighting mode while RoaN has more traditional movement and a more complex fighting system (though I here this may change in BB.). As far as adventure modes go, we know that the BB mode will be like Assassins Creed like the first game with everything explorable to the top of the tallest building. The history of NUN isn't that great on the adventure side but the trailer for NUNS did show some adventuring that might compete I guess I will wait and see.

the story mode on PS3 isnt just a story and fightin and correct me if im wronh x360 version is walking and fightin...very big different btween em...o BB chars looks good in some way but naruto, kiba, kyubi naruto and sealed sasuke looks tereible!!!aw awfull.this hame is graphicallly M U C H worse and as expected frm microsoft there will be max 12 play chars...and on ps3 25 and 10 more to download soon for FREE (manga said that in 1 of interrwiev every1 downloadable content of UNS will be absolutelly free).so wats better adventure fightin game with incredible graphic and huges splendid enviroments arenas,or adventure game with stupid fightin in small arenas with no enviromments and casual graphic?)just use your brain to compare users! BB-saks,UNS.rockz.compare it yurself.dont be newbie compare these...1 naruto game will rule the all otherz...

You are wrong besides your typo's your facts on BB are not correct and as far as the look of both games go the have very different art styles. NUNS uses cell-shading on the complete game while BB only uses it on characters and effects and not on environments so its kind of a preference. I think in order for you to judge either game you need to first at least have played the final games.

As siple as UNS is focussed on fighting and TBB on platforms.
UNS lacks on explorable enviromets 'cause have only Konoha recreated (where like in the 360 one you have to find coins and collectibles, do race missions, deliver missions, climb trees minigames, get on top of the buildings...) and TBB have recreated also the enviroments surrounding Konoha including (if i'm not wrong) other towns in a plataforming way with barriers jumping timing, team colaboration.
But TBB fight system is a 2.5D and UNS a 2.75D (it's not fully 3D 'cause if you press the attack button you face automatically your enemy).
UNS also have great graphics and animations that can't be compared with TBB. TBB graphics area lot better than in ROAN but don't match the UNS ones... and the animations are far behind from the UNS ones.
But the fact that UNS lacks of online makes TBB match the quality that UNS wins in other areas.

Conclusion: I'll get both.

Okey!
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm have i Story mode calld Ultimate Mission mode, in the Ultimate Mission mode you can explore Konoha and Foresst of Death. The game gos from ep 1 to ep 135.
The cutscenes are not CG, the cutscenes are useing the in-game engine.
You can choose between the japanise voice and English text or you can choose the English voice.
It will take 30 hours to finish the story mode in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.
You have also side mission were you can do meany thing, you can aslo do every singel mission agein and choose a higher or lower Difficulty.
Ultimate Ninja Storm you can also find collectible items around in Konoha Village and Foresst of Death.
