Following the announcement that Nioh will also get a Western release on PlayStation 4, here is the very high quality (80Mbps) trailer at 60fps that we got along with screenshots showing how the dark action-RPG from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja looks like.
Epic Samurai-centric Action RPG Combines All-Star Talents of
Kou Shibusawa, Hisashi Koinuma, and Team NINJA
Hertfordshire, 07 December 2015 – At the recent PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco, CA, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and KOEI TECMO announced that Nioh, a dark, samurai-centric action RPG, will be coming to the west exclusively for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system. Nioh has been in development under the direction of Kou Shibusawa, Hisashi Koinuma, and Team NINJA.
In Nioh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Known as Yokai, these demons inhabit a number of dangerous locations and lie in wait in the shadows to ambush unsuspecting victims. Players will also face off with other samurai in supernatural sword battles and intense, multi-target engagements offering a level of difficulty that will truly test even the most hardened samurai’s skills, patience, and strategy.
Offering a deep and original storyline that takes place during the Warring States Period of Japanese history alongside strategic sword-fighting action, Nioh will challenge players in a way that makes every mission and accomplishment feel earned and worthwhile. More information on this comprehensive, action-packed RPG experience will be released in the coming months.

I hope Team Ninja delivers on Nioh, their last games haven't been much to speak of, with the worst offender being that Z game with Ryu Hayabusa's "nemesis" ninja that shall not be named in respect of Ninja Gaiden fans.
Real talk: looks meh.
Why didnt they make him look more japanese and samurai like?
I expected him to look like this
Interms of gameplay, its faster and more stylish which is TN for sure, but it has stamina based combat so i am not that big of a fan of it.
At first i was hyped but after playing Dark Souls for a week by trying to get into the combat style, it changed my view on it.
I dont know, maybe if one of my friends buy it and then he can gameshare it with me lol
For now i am 50/50 on it.
PS. Why didnt they add Ninja Gaiden's decpatiation engine in this game? it would be so damn visceral and satistfying.

Also the main character was japanese, it was the blonde one that was from china.
this game looks promising.

A huge part of the story is how both the Japanese and Chinese used these foreign people as warriors to fight their battles. With neither Japan nor China coming out as the "good guys". In the end, they both fought not for nationality or because they were ordered to, but because of what they believed in and because it's something they wanted to do for their own reasons.
While it's never revealed, I believe the blonde guy is from Russia and Nanashi is from Ireland. Though it's only my speculation.
I hope that the revelation of the main character being a foreigner doesn't make the anime less in your eyes.
PS. "melodeon" beat me to it, only saw his/her message after posting mine.
To be fair, those shows were bad, but his acting was even worse than the other actors. Not sure if Sanada has problems with acting in foreign movies and TV shows as a non-Japanese, since when acting in Japanese movies or portraying Samurais, he nails it. But that's how it looked to me.
gonna buy this when it comes out, looks really cool
Love what I am seeing.
I guess i will close one eye for the stamina since everything else is great to me.
