Xbox 360

Air fight videogame Ace Combat 6 (Xbox 360) is coming back at us with new downloadable content which will add, as soon as tomorrow, many new models to test in the skies. You will have to spend 1600 Microsoft points for the complete package, otherwise the price range from 300 to 400 points per plane. There's one that is free too.

Typhoon – ORANGE WING– (300 Microsoft Points)
Monotone Color, Orange Aircraft. A modified sky painting aircraft for shows and exhibitions. This aircraft is equipped with colored smoke missiles. The missile payload has been maximized for show purposes.
Su-47 Berkut – VIOLET WING – (300 Microsoft Points)
Monotone Color, Violet Aircraft. A modified sky painting aircraft for shows and exhibitions. This aircraft is equipped with colored smoke missiles. The missile payload has been maximized for show purposes.
Typhoon – ROT – (200 Microsoft Points)
Ace Combat Zero, Rival Rot Team Aircraft. Extremely agile maneuverability assures this aircraft's dominance in a dogfight. Hindered by low durability, overwhelming attack prowess is its foremost form of defense. The elite Rot Team, led by the "Red Swallow", was charged with maintaining air superiority over Area B7R. The proud and deeply patriotic team leader, soon became the face of the Belkan Air Force.
F-16C Fighting Falcon – PJ EMBLEM – (Free)
Ace Combat Zero, Wingman PJ Aircraft. Increased maneuverability is attained via reductions in armor. A thorough set of customizations enable this aircraft to adapt quickly to changes in the tide of battle. Initially a member of the Ustio Air Force's Crow Squadron, PJ flew as Galm 2 during the Belkan residual force sweeping operation, Stone Age. Fighting to protect the one's he loved, PJ's sense of justice remained steadfast to the end.
Tornado GR.4 + F-15E Strike Eagle + CFA-44 Nosferatu + F/A-18F SuperHornet – RAZGRIZ (400 Microsoft Points)
The heroes of Ace Combat 5, Razgriz Squadron Aircraft. Advanced accident prevention systems, and high durability have been incorporated into the design to ensure the survival of all squadron members. Known as both heroes and demons, the Razgriz Squadron's drive towards victory smashed all who stood before them. When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself.
Rafale M – THE IDOLMASTER IORI – (400 Microsoft Points)
THE IDOLMASTER, Iori Minase Aircraft. Although her bratty attitude may send you for a loop, once under your control she may just reward you with a flawless performance. Her characteristic "spoiled sport" attitude is the fuel that keeps her flying, even when she's in a tight spot.

Not models, skins. I download all the free packs but hell if I'm going to pay $$$'s for reskins. There are stat changes on the planes, but changing a few bits around doesn't interest me...

No, but I'd import Idolm@ster if 360 was region free or if it came out on PS3.

It seems like a ripoff to me. A few new planes cost twice the price of most XBLA games. And compared to all other DLC from games, this is very expensive. WTF are they thinking?

you know what would be better?

if they sold a forza stlye paint system so you can make all your own designs instead. (or better still included that in the game in the first place)

I never complain about the xbl dlc prices normally, but this is just a huge pathetic ripoff.

For skins they are simply too expensive. They should bundle them e.g. coloured wing bundle, Razgriz bundle and so on but with all aircrafts included and even then sell them for 400 MSP, that would be ok.
Buying one skin for 200 ~ 400 MSP is just too much no matter how good they look… come on the PGR3 Speed Pack had 12 new cars (not just some textures) and was 400 MSP, even some Arcade Games are 400MSP.

Anyway I’m looking forward to Ace Combat 7. The game itself is good even if the DLC is a rip off.

Is the sense of speed better in the finished game than it was in the demo? I haven't bought it yet because the speed bothered me in the demo, it just felt too slow. The game was still pretty good though, but I just didn't like flying past things at what seemed like 30mph despite flying at top speed. :(

For me it was okay, the same as AC5, Zero or 4.
And the F16 of the demo is not that fast in this game.

Edit.: The speed of the demo F16 resembles the speed of the F16 in game. So the demo is exact like the game. But like I say I think that the speed of every AC since PS2 times is the same.

Oh, OK. So the other planes are faster? I might rent it first just to see what other planes and parts of the game are like before I buy it. I guess I'm used to the Air Force Delta games, I thought they were great and the speed seemed right. AC6 does look amazing though, one of the best looking games around at times I'd say!

Yea there are faster planes like the Suchois but don’t expect too much. It’s not like changing the plane will change the whole pace of the game nor its feel.
Renting it is a good way to try it out because you will play through the storyline in about 5 hours or something. But by playing it through once you won’t be able to afford every plane or special weapon system.
