As we are waiting for a sequel of Dead Rising, which won't happen until at least 2009, Techland poke us and tell us to be aware they are creating a zombie videogame called Dead Island for the Xbox 360. The company gives us two new images of this FPS as a gift.

I am definately keeping a close eye on this. I have yet to play Dead rising but this is looking like my type of game but are you sure it's an FPS ??

I really liked Techland's Call of Juarez, so I have some hopes for this one.

What a shame. I really have nothing againt a first person camera system but something about it bugs me! I just like seeing the entire character I am playing with. This is part of the reason, FPSs in general do no interest me except those that really stand out of the like of Farcry, bioshock, half life and Halo.

Condemned and FEAR tried to break general FPS conventions aswell, try those out if you haven't already. Especially Condemned, I mean before the game was released I don't believe I'd ever played a survival FPS before... and I wouldn't even call it a shooter, since you only ever have a gun at the rarest moments. Other noteworthy mentions, Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness... you get to see your character in 3rd person occasionally :P

Doesn't look bad but it looks kind of bland, generic. Really looks a lot like Far cry. But hey, i wont say no to a big free-roaming zombie game!

looking good if you ask me. deliver on some fun gameplay and lots of gore, and its a definite purchase. hopefully this isnt to far off, i need to kill some zombies..........

Is it co-op btw anyone?. I sincerely hope so as this type of game would rule!. Left 4 Dead is using co-op in a different type of context, but this kind of `fee roam` style fps would be awesome with a friend as back-up. I recently watched Dawn of the dead (remake btw) again recently and man this would suit me down to the ground !.

Its because you are not interested in the game, thats why it doesn't stand out.

I played the first Killzone, and I hope they REALLY fix the aiming, AI, animations for the second one, the first one was a pain the ass.

But I have hopes for that game, hopefully they make it much better than the first one.

Anyyyywwaayyyyy, screens look pretty cool. water looks a bit dodgy, but still not too bad. The idea for the game looks good enough, so shall have to wait for some gameplay vids! (Y)
