THQ releases nine new images of Saints Row 2, which had presentations running two weeks ago in London. The color palette is a bit special, but technically it's far from bad.

You can completely customise the character, hence the slighly clay like player characters. Besides the ugly female PC, it looks good to me. I really loved the original game, it done a lot of things much better than GTA, so it'll be interesting to see where it goes, and if it can compete with GTAIV.

So you can give your character monkey length arms? Weird........

I don't see if competing with GTAIV, first one was fun but came nowhere near to the quality of a GTA in terms of story or gameplay elements......

Already played GTA4, hunn?

GTA came nowhere near to the quality of a SR in terms of gameplay elements. Keep sayin the contrary to yer delusional self... maybe you'll start to believe it.

Its great isn't it when people are comparing games that aren't even out yet! People slating one game off against the other are the same people that would cry and moan on that there aren't enough games getting released! Its all im seeing with Frontlines FOW is that it aint BF2, who cares the more games the damn better!

Lol amen brother!

The game looks great, and the fact is, even though most people want to think SR stole ideas from GTA, it actually didn't it was a standard "Open World" game, and if you see some of the features in GTAIV, you'll notice they took a fair share of SR ideas.

I wish people would stop trying to compare the two games like theres not enough space for both of them? Thats like freaking comparing SWAT and Rainbow Six, though you never see that comparison very often.

Either way, SR2 looks fantastic and i will be getting it alongside with GTAIV, only an idiot would restrict themselves to just one of the two.

umm i think Grimbarian was saying that SR doesn't compare to the (OTHER) GTA's in terms of gameplay and what not.... gotta read between the lines people!

and i think that may be true... the stories of the GTA games.. (personally not including GTA SA) were really good story lines.. >< ... >< ... >< ... >< .. >< ... ><

I really liked the first one. But I'm guessing that GTAIV is going to spoil everyone. I'm sure this one will be fun too.

It looks good enough for an open world game.
I'm glad there's both SR and GTA, it's better for us when they use each other's ideas.

I think it sounds like it'll be different enough to compliment GTAIV. This game will have airplanes, and funny minigames like riding on the roofs of cars (something I've been doing in every one of this type of games anyways)...

Looks great and the first one certainly did some things very well (like something as simple as free aiming). I hope GTA IV's use of Euphoria doesn't spoil SR2 for me, because it sure looks fun as hell.

Read between the lines? Hell I thought it was pretty clear English I was using, seems I need to use shorter words for some people ;)

But thanks for at least trying to explain his ignorance.......

I didn't like SR very much. The story was below bad, the characters were all flat, especially the protagonist who spoke two words (one being a grunt) in the whole game.

That said the gameplay was good, but lacked the lunacy of a typical GTA game, which IMO made you forget about the medicore gameplay to begin with. When they've done better this time I can't see SR2 competing with GTA4.

Obviously you didn't play much of the game then to make those kind of statements, othewise you'd know the main character is infact NOT a mute. ;)

And I disagree, while the story was nothing fantastic, a lot of the characters were pretty deep, and had a lot of secrets once you really got into the game, and almost all of them were extremely well voice acted. It wasn't trying to be anything epic, but it was enjoyable story, and knew when not to take itself too seriously. Try watching this video, it does contain massive spoilers for the original game, but seeing as every preview for SR2 seems to be giving away the story anyway, I'm not sure it matters anymore. http://youtube.com/watch?v=r5J8-ZBKo3M

And like was mentioned before, I think one of the reasons the game was so much fun was because of the activities, fun little mini games that were basically fleshed out versions of things most people do while playing these types of games anyway. My favourite one was insurance fraud, where you basically had to throw yourself infront of traffic to sue the drivers. Combined with the bizarre rag doll physics the game had, you could do some pretty hilarious stuff.

Poor sense of humor, severe performance issues, generic and lame story/plot with some decent gameplay implementation pretty much sums up SR1.

Needless to say, I'm not greatly excited for this one. Still, I won't completely write off this sequel...it might actually turn out half-decent.

"Chest bump" :D
Personally i think Saints Row was a BIG brother to GTA. I mean it had more gameplay stuff, better gfx, better physics, better damage modelling and car handling, better combat. More stuff to do. Everything.

Im convinced that GTA4 will surpass it, but dont count Saints Row out just yet.

I liked SR a lot aswell, I will probably get this game together with GTA-IV.. GTA has a much bigger name, especially in the mainstream crowd, but SR isn't bad at all, maybe even better in some area's, just not as well known as GTA.. GTA-IV will sell a lot more, but I like them both and will get them both..

this game looks good .. loved the first one.. it let me play a character very similar to Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction.. which I loved... I'll be getting GTA aswell of course...

But let's not compare games with others especially games that aren't out!

From now on let's talk about games in a way that NOT makes it sound like you've played when it's not even done yet..
