Well, given the scale, size, and the sheer amount of assets, which would all no doubt be getting a revision of some sort and optimization, I'm not surprised it takes them as long as it does. That and the fact that they already did all this for the current gen platforms. I'd say they are making good time on it. However, the incremental delays of the game are a bit annoying. The game better be tip top at release otherwise these complaints are warranted.

Haha wow, after seeing these im pretty sure 98% pc gamers will be all whiney when they realize their 970's will hit medium-high settings at best. Very impressive looking stuff, reminds me of Crysis when it launched back in 2007.
Oh yeah.. 4K. How many people have a GTX970 and a 4K monitor though? Hopefully we'll be pleased with the performance. I hope to play it on high settings at 1440p on a GTX980.
4k is still an extreme luxury these days. I dare say most who own a 4k monitor, own one that runs at 30hz, rather than a gaming mandatory 60hz one, which are still fairly expensive, not to mention still have their shortcomings. It'll probably be another 5 years before 4k gaming becomes a bit more mainstream and affordable. There's very little reason to actually own one given the lack of media that actually makes use of that res, unless of course you're a creative professional, in which case any kind of 4k monitor is a must have. Those expecting next gen consoles (if there are any) to be 4k will still be away with the fairies, as they were with current gen.

People who get 4k monitors for gaming won't be getting a 970 for it. It is a highly enthusiasm market and those people know that a 970 is not enough for those monitors for mostly all games, so it is stupid to pretend that people with 4k monitors will be using a 970 for gaming.
It should look better for the gaming rig needed to play maxed @ higher then 1080p and 60fps. Many people will decent pc's won't be able to run it that way. That's why there are options.
I've Played the PS4 version and it looks good and runs smoothly.
Not quite sure what people expect from the PS4 lol. It's a decent machine with the latest firmware got even better. Love to see a PC produce better graphics at less then 140watts, but hey you can't.

Looks so good, It's getting harder and harder not to buy a gaming PC after the lacklustre PS4 & Xbox One games weve been getting.
Wasn't this game good already on last gen console and port for current gen too is considered quite good. if these screenshot are from a high end PC, with 500$ gfx card you why would you expect it to be better than consoles.

For an open world game made originally for the last generation, it looks pretty damn good. Hell, for a current gen open world game it looks better than most anything else out there.
AND I'm sure it'll run pretty well on a 970 and awesome on my 980.
The GTA fan-dumb never ceases to disappoint me. Every new version in the series you can count on the peanut gallery claiming its graphics are so amazing, they beat out [insert any other game in existence here]...
It looks okay. That's it, it looks okay. Anything outside of that is denial. It looks better than the last version in the series just like most of the other versions, there. If anything as a "gamer" you'd think people would be more interested in the "game" than its shell.
As far as 4k goes. It means nothing without more color space. You could have an 8k resolution and it wouldn't mean anything with the same dpi and color space. If you compress 4096 into 1920, it will look just as good.
All I want to know is whether or not the game is worth playing... no more about this pathetic bickering over graphics and other horseshit.
(except maybe Bully 2 or RDR for PC, because that would be badass)

Just because the games visuals don't turn you on does not mean that others are in denial for thinking it looks fantastic.

Okay.. sorry. Intentionally and unnecessarily overstated. But.. it's really not that impressive.
It looks fine, but I was [over]reacting to the idea that this would disappoint GTX970 users. That's still a flawed premise, especially since we're (apparently) referring to the resolution of these screenshots. Anyone running this on a 4K panel probably has a couple of GTX980s.
I'm not really buying the "for an open world game" bit either. It looks good.. but it still looks "last gen."
