Activision releases the first three images of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, via Sony America since the screens are from the PS3 version. Let's say it could use some more work.

This game won't have a very active community on consoles. People are going to stick to COD4 and Halo for the most part.
All i see is low res textures, low poly models, and more jaggies than a PS2 game.
My favorite ETQW map is a level called Slipgate (which is actually pictured in screenshot with the Strogg walker). Half of the level takes place in Africa, where the Strogg are tasked with defending a slipgate from the EDF. Once the EDF successfully hack the slipgate and are able to move their giant APC through the portal, the action moves to a dark and snowy Antarctica. The variety of objectives that players have to complete in this game is what makes it unique and interesting.. it's a pretty dynamic game in that sense.
FYI, the PC version looks much better than this. The engine in its upgraded for isn't going to turn any heads in the same manner than many other FPS might, but it's still pretty capable. COD4's engine still contains a bit of Q3 code as it is :)
Some of the levels are also pretty massive, which is pretty impressive considering this engines heritage. Wolf:ET does have a somewhat bigger audience still though, but this is a different game, and that's a good thing. I think the majority of people who were instantly turned off by the game mostly hated the infantry combat because it's so damn arcadey, but it does have Quake in the name after all.
But in the past few years there really haven't been any good ones :(
Still, the way games sell on consoles these days I wouldn't be surprised if the game sold ~750k, even Turok sold 500k and that game was gutter shit.
As far as id goes, I look forward to their next engine and Rage, because it'll be the first time id is really focusing on the console side, so it'll be cool to see what they can do.
Isn't COD4 based partly on classes? Along with many games recently? Lots of FPS games in multiplayer offer classes, isn't team fortress based on classes also?
Am I missing something, cause I see a lot of class based games around, just cause they aren't heavily into it doesn't mean they are aren't tainted by it, which they are.

TF2 is pretty simple in its approach to classes, and it's community is pretty dead on the PS360 compared to its healthy PC community. BF:MC/BC has simplified classes compared to its PC brothers by consolidating kits, etc. There are class based shooters on the 360 but none of them are particularly popular compared to the likes of Call of Duty or Halo, and no class based shooter is going to compete with big PS360 titles any time soon.

But does the 360 version look like this or different?
....ouch
Thanks for nothing!
