VF is 100 times better than DOA, and DOA is still great.

you cannot go wrong with either one

DOA
Don't talk nonscene, as a fighter fan VF wins hands down.

If you wanta button masher go for DOA if you want a game which relies on skill to get you through the game pick VF.

VF is the fighting game king. I also play DOA but if you want a deep fighter that takes a lifetime to master, VF is the one.

DOA
I see you don't know anything about fighters, eh?

DOA is more user friendly, pretty much for people who aren't looking for an hardcore fighting game. DOA is more of the type that you can play with friends or w/e and all button mash to big boob glory

I need to defend DOA a little. It's not a button masher. If you button mash in DOA you will get stomped by a serious DOA player no question. So please stop calling it a button masher....it's not Tekken or Soul Calibur.

However, VF still has way more depth and is for serious fighter fans.

Sure against a hardcore player its not, same can be said about Tekken and Soul Calibur. You take that scenario away and its a button masher.

Seriously doh, the only reason people bring this up, is simply due to the fact that DOA was the only fighter on the Xbox. If it had been multi-platform or been on another console, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. No more settling :P

@Wiggins, no it's not the 360 version. Those are the normal button layouts, and its from the PS3 version.

Sigh.... How many times do people need to say its just bad captures. You can go watch the VF.net movies, and see that the game looks tons better in motion.

Owell, forget it. It's pointless trying to play the VF defense squad when it won't change anything.

I'm done, carry on :)

Looks pretty nice. And propably will look somewhat better in motion so I'm happy with the visuals. Can't wait to test this one and see how the gameplay is.

ill defend DOA, its a great and very fun fighting game that offers alot to enjoy( and its only button masher friendly, to the buttons mashers :p, if you know how to play like me, its a different story)..but when it comes to pure depth, VF is your game. Graphics wise, environments ill guive it to DOA4, characters, ill give it to VF5 (although i hate that they look so damn shiny)

VF isn't just for pros, it just has a pretty harsh learning curve. VF is the sort of game that gives you back what you are willing to put into it..if you really want to learn the game and play it, it's not that hard, it just requires more effort than some games.

People say it looks better than DOA4 because it does, Lebato. DOA4 has fantasic enviroments and is a very clean looking game..I even prefer the character design (<3 Hitomi) but the over all look and feel doesn't really go far beyond DOA3 (imo). The lighting in VF5 alone makes it a much better looking game. Plus animation, which others have argued for DOA, is much better in VF imo.

I'm with Kenshin. Go watch some VF.tv stuff and if that doesn't bring you around, than stop bothering with Virtua Fighter all together. It is pointless trying to defend something, especially something that's this great and can really just speak for itself.

But you're entitled to prefer the look of Dead Or Alive. That's one thing that's 100% opinion here, unlike which one plays better ;)

The proper answer, btw, is Virtua Fighter of course :)
