Unfortunately it seems like a good portion of these pics come straight from the trailer released earlier. Not that I'm complaining or anything. Hopefully we'll get to see some solid gameplay trailers or clips soon.

Lost Odyssey looks alot better. And since i know nothing of the gameplay in this game so far, thats all i have to go on. So far it fails :P

Sometimes the shadows are a bit too faint e.g. picture 5 and sometimes there are no shadows on the ground at all e.g. picture 2 and 7. Aside from that I think it looks pretty awesome.

I wonder if you are able to change the gear of Capel. Sometimes he got this weak leather armor and sometimes he got badass gear like Sigmund.
I don’t like the leather armor it looks uninspired, bland, weak etc.

Since we haven't seen anything real (or anything that's real for sure) of Final Fantasy I guess this and Sakaguchi's latest efforts are the best we've seen from Japan so far. Yeah, I know, tech-blabla, but our shiny new consoles are not used by japanese developers.

Just like VP2 was a poor man's FFXII? Right?

I can't believe the hate for the 360 sometimes. Even in the face of a proven, stellar development team.

Amen to that one and Baleur Lost Odyssey looks impressive and has some very strong art direction throughout the game and even some very surprising technical merits, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say it looks better than this game from a visual standpoint just yet.

Ragism it would be unwise to leave out Capcom :)

Resident Evil 5 is absolutely stunning.

I dont think you can judge JRPGs by pictures and trailers, its all in the plot development, so i find it way to early to be calling this game a failure.

I'm so looking forward to this game. The graphics are quite beautiful and the gameplay looks promising. tri-Ace will most definately come through with something special. Its been in development for quite a while.

The screens are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge (Sarcasm.....)

Looks ok for me... I'm somehow a 'fan' of J-RPGs :) Anyways when I first looked at the 8th image, looking at the top right corner I inmediatly thought of Zelda OoT... Sweet Jeebus, HIGH RES PALS! DOES THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU? >_<

I personally think this looks better than Lost Odyssey, in terms of visual style and art style, it just appears to be more vibrant, and character designs are more appealing.

Everything on the 360 is compared to FF13 which is getting just RIDICULOUS and people should just quit doing it .... Enough is enough.

sighs, it looks cool and all, but Sony Bitter Tears? MGS4 is coming in almost a month and look at future man. This game looks like a decent RPG, still no one has played this game so judging it is still too early. But a i always have a strange feeling when Square releases anything other than FF, mostly its decent or crap and rarely very good.

Square-Enix is the publisher, the developer is Tri-Ace the guys behind StarOcean and Valkyrie Profile.
If IU matches up with these two I have nothing to worry about because I like those.

There will CGI and realtime cutscenes. An example of the CGI can be seen in the trailer.

Amen brother. The only negative i have to point out so far is that all the chars are teens practically. That seems to be the trend lately with jrps...not that there's anything wrong with that...but, im getting older, so its becoming a little less immersive<----------is that a word????

LOL... only a naysayer talks about a game that knows anything about.
First... Trolls comparing to Final Fantasy ( XI more like it), now you are saying is is a second-rate Squenix production. GTFO!

IT's A TRI-ACE PRODUCTION!

JRPGs have always been this way though, you get the ocassional older role model character but thats about it.

If this game is anything like Tri-Aces previous games we are in for a treat, I am also looking forward to FF13 but I think this and SO4 will both be better gameplay wise.
