very strange... sometimes cool and stylish, sometimes completely wannabe. Definitely not a game for me, but I'm sure this has quite a large fanbase.

A wannabe of what exactly? It's pretty unique

well, there are some unique things like the completely ridiculous but nevertheless cool swordcharging animation. But then there are the cutscenes, which are totally wannabe john woo or any random asian john woo action rip off. The decapitations, the animation system and some other parts are just mediocre. The animations are neither perfect technicwise, nor stylish or cool. Mostly it's just average.
The whole other stuff, like the casino style arcade counter is same as some of the animations so overtop, that it is -tadaaaa- cool.
But this is just my oppionion, and as I stated in my first post, the game is nothing I will play, but surely has many fans who like it.

I'm sad that this hasn't been confirmed for release outside Japan. Ubisoft has passed on it.

I wonder what the plans are for NMH2. Rising Star Games said they'd publish two versions, the japanese no blood original and the US version with buckets of it. Rising Star hasn't exactly been doing too well though, and publishing two versions of the same game is looking more and more like an unnecessarily expensive endeavour.

Has GSY brass been given any heads up on the PAL plans for that?

I had the game but returned it. The game was fun but I couldn't stand the loading. It's way too many and way too long.

They should release the game after PS Motion Navigator (or whatever it's called now) and Natal are out.

Yeah the 360 version is region locked but is rated Z here in Japan. The PS3 version is censored and rated D here in Japan.

I hope they have fixed the reverse finisher error in this version. It was present in NMH2 so i doubt it, must check the videos first.

The error ocurred when you finished an opponent with a diagonal slice (at least, this one is the most noticeable), they have a part of their body model set to flash as you slice through and when you are behind them the same flash goes through the same path (but since you are behind it's pretty awkward to watch it going in a different direction than your blade).

Gonna watch it now.

Didn't fix it ¬¬

Suda himself said NMH was first conceived to be for 360. Was this really what he had in mind? I can tolerate stiff animations in a Wii game, but not in a current generation remake... Also, it's sad the happymeter is gone (i don't know how else to call it without getting bullettimed).

Most of that is totally intentional though.

Kind of want to play this game just to find out what it's like. One of the few games for the Wii I was interested in. But a EU release looks pretty far away. Nice quick look of the game though.

thanks for the second video , by the looks of it your right hand thumb will be hurting like hell after playing this for few hours straight, seeing like all the sword QT events are "Press right analog and move it to selected direction"

I'm still trying to see what is so interesting. From the game-play vids, it looks clunky and shallow. Those animations are pretty darn weak, IMO. Perhaps the story is interesting, but this game looks generations old, I don't just mean graphically. I may be wrong, but pop-up... really?

ITS A WII PORT. Come on!

You should play it, the gameplay is addicting. You might say it isn't. I've said so too. The humor in this is crazy, that's why everything may look bad or something.

Day 1. It was easily the best game on the wii and the only reason I bought/ owned one for a brief time. I wanted it to come out on PS3 or 360 like Suda said he would do, but he then decided on the wii and that is where I went. Now that they remodeled all the game and redid all textures, SFX, it looks amazing. Cant wait for it to release here on PS3. Thanx for the footage! I was going to import, but I think Ill wait. Itll give me time to finish the games I have now. Just waiting for 3d Dot hero, King of Fighters 13, BlazBlue CS and Red Dead to come out along side this title. Calling this game a wanna be of anything is an insult! I await 2 getting ported as well. The next NMH game is going to be built from the ground up for the PS3.

Suda 51 had no involvement in the port (taking that weird Hideo Kojima stance that I can't tell if it's genuine or a PR stunt to keep fan heads from spinning up and exploding) and talking about No More Heroes 3 - refering to it as explosive diarrhea (his words) - when doing press for upcoming europe release of Desperate Struggle, it sure sounded like they're making that too for the Wii.

I'm not sure what next NMH you're on about aang.
