As promised here is the second first 10 minutes of Prey on Xbox 360, this time showing what's happening after the ending of the demo. I'm sure you have already noticied, either by playing or by watching the videos that Prey is a very linear and totally scripted game. Some people will hate this, others will love it. Personally I'm quite enjoying this game, with lots of very good and creative ideas like portals and gravity changes that add a real plus to an otherwise rather classic gameplay. The game can be finished in about 6 hours, but these are 6 excellent hours where a lot of stuff happens. The multiplayer mode could have added to this, but I really found it too limited to be much more than a nice bonus. Also worth noting, the framerate can from time to time get rather bad, proving once again after Quake 4 that the Doom 3 engine isn't at all designed for the 360 architecture.

But I don't think it's the fault of the Doom3 Engine, in fact - it should run quite smooth on 360 . . ... it's just another bad PC port, that's all. . .. . . not optimized for 360. .. . .
Better Doom3 engine-examples in the future will hopefully be Carmack's Wolfenstein and Quake Wars, I guess . . ..

Prey is one of the best FPS in recent memory. I reckon the single player is closer to 9/10 hours in length, especially if you hold back and take in the little details, like Talon's ability to decypher the alien text on monitors and control panels. It's inventive, pretty, features some hella cool alien weapons and is consistently impressive. As for multiplayer... well that's not going to be to everyones taste. Fans of fast paced shooters like Quake, or Unreal Tournament should love it though. I do.
hm, could be such a good game
the framerate i dont really minded (got used to in Quake 4) but it was to scripted and linear even the demo had that problem.
so i am going to wait for this game to be a discount item.
Overall this game was alot of fun and a great rental , the graphics were very nice and smooth for moi.
Also wanted to mention this game definately isn't only 6 hours to play through the single player mode. Maybe if you rush and avoid the enemies and just try to sprint through the levels you may beat the game in 6 hours. It took me around 10-12 hours to beat.
BTW, Venom wrote completely fresh code for this game, independently from quake4 engine.
