PS3

Sony and Factor 5 released this Making-Of video of Lair on the japanese PSN. Quite a bit of gameplay in there, and some new informations too.

It´s not "Level 5" that´s making the game, it´s "Factor 5". :D

really unsure about this game, not that i can see myself owning a ps3 within 5 years anyway, but the graphics arent all that, but theres a helluva lot going on, it just fails to excite me in the slightest

Game looks ugly. For all the smack talk Factor 5's was doing before the game was shown it certainly doesn't help to think highly of this game. Sony wasted their money on this game. Someone from 1up already played it and said it was wacked :P

1UP really is not the best place to get your PS3 news :p

I really need a demo for this game.
I'm usually very decisive and I can just say ''Yes I will buy this game'' or ''No I won't buy this game'' but this is one of those rare occasions where I need more stuff on the game.

The real time battle excites me and of course the environments are HUGE which also adds great depth and there are lots of mini games within the main game itself like when you do a 1on1 dragon fight and the boss battles are different (God Of War like) but then again can they deliver that all in a way that it doesn't get boring?

This video did not help me decide.
This was a promotional videe anyway- We are not supposed to learn more.

Hope to see this at Leipzig Game Convention.

Their engine is incredible but I don't get aesthetics of the game at all.

What a fanboy-ish video. "the PS3 is the best console eva lol" ....Oh yeah? Give the 360 a bluray player and it will still have better lighting and sharper textures.

Just kidding! Don't hurt meh. :,[

The game looks pretty fun. Can the dragon talk like in Eragon? :P

This game should have been pushed out the front door months ago. I question how much good the last few months of development have done for the thing.

It is now Sony's sole exclusive for the month of August. Against Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Bioshock on the Xbox 360, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Wii. Maybe in addition to the "epic" Hollywood production behind it, it'll get the advertising to follow. Otherwise, this train is going to wreck.

Is the final game really going to have such a bad framerate?

Well some gamer sites said it's runing very smooth without any drops but then why are the devs still showing this chopy footage.

Btw are the cutscenes real time or cgi because they look amazing.

The game went gold today. I heard they ironed out most of the frame rate issues though before hand.

TURRICAN ! TURRICAN II ! TURRICAN III ! , and maybe Rogue Leader, that are dream games made in the past; since they left amiga and big n, julian and chris get a little lost in the hyper xbox ps3 60wii jungle, to hopefully find their private lair * joking*

If you can say one of the best looking games looks fugly, then... ok.
Someone from 1up already played it and said it was wacked :P
1up hasn't really liked Wii's motion-sensing games either (not nearly as much as many other places), so it's pretty clear that in addition to having something against Sony & its consoles, they are not too much in love with the motion sensing stuff (and since Lair relies so heavily on motion sensing, you can see what that means). Many other places have, in turn, praised Lair & have actually seen it in person on a (probably huge) HDTV and played it. The British Play Magazine (not the US one that gave Sonic 8.5) already rated Lair a 9, and IIRC, so did Edge Magazine. Even if 1up didn't like the controls (unlike many others), you seem to forget that they really praised the graphics of Lair.
come on blim you know what I am talking about...you played it at TGS 06 ;P
Eh? Are you really that dumb? They've completely revamped EVERYthing in the game after last year's TGS. Not only do the graphics look a lot better & the recent demos run at pretty consistent 30fps (so says previews), they've changed the whole way you actually play the game. They god bad feedback of the controls that were in the TGS '06 build and learned from that. Nowadays the controls are good & work without problems.

AFAIK, they've also got Warhawk & Singstar (Warhawk could be a big hit & Singstars have sold millions of copies, so...). Besides, August 14th is the day where everything starts. After that, we'll see Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future, GT5 Prologue, Folklore and some others (+ multiplatforms + PSN games) all before the year ends.
