Wii

Finally, here's the american trailer for the racing videogame Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii. We can appreciate four controller types : the Wiimote with the wheel, the Wiimote and Nunchuk combo, the classic controller and the good'ol GameCube controller. (continued)

The online features seem robust with up to twelve players at once on a same connection. The leaderboards will be displayed on a special channel. It is possible to race as your Mii, which is a great bonus. The only think which is bothering me is the inclusion of bikes, but seriously, this Mario Kart seems really enjoyable!

I almost wish they didn't give the gamecube controller option, I got ripped on the classic controller and I miss rumble.. maybe I'll get that Nyko controller.

I'm glad this one looks like it reverts back to more of the style of the 64 version

Looks like another barely updated Nintendo franchise that the fans will just eat up anyway. And if there's one thing I learned from Brawl, it's that Nintendo shouldn't do online. Ever. I have a 16MB connection that works flawlessly with Live and PSN, but couldn't get a single Brawl match without lag or disconnects.

That's true, unfortunately it was completely unplayable. You either came up against people who would snake, which totally unbalanced the whole game, or people who would quit as soon as the fall into last position. I never once finished a race with everyone still there by the end..

And people say Halo is bad because of whiney kids?

The channel looks good though, my only real issue with the game is the removal of multiplayer grand prix and there are no challanges or other modes in the game, like what DS had. It seems they wanted this out as quickly as possible.

That sounds really boring. Even if I'd lose, I'd still play 'till the end.

I wasn't necessarily speaking of the Mario Kart DS game (which is excellent), I was just speaking of the fact that the DS's online capability is pretty immaculate and was referencing the comment "Nintendo shouldn't do online"
I bet Mario Kart on Wii will have just as many drops, I think most racers are like that since they don't punish it

So wait, no multiplayer grand prix? As in, no split screen mp? That seems highly unlikely and if that were the case I probably wouldn't bother buying it

Multiplayer grand prix is gone. However you can still compete in versus mode and even set up your own grand prix style races, where you choose a sequence of courses to race through. So technically, it's not a big deal, unless you're like me and enjoyed playing through the game with a friend to unlock everything.

Yeah I enjoyed that as well. It was nice having your one friend drop back to screw over a certain character to ensure beating the game/cup

Completey agree it seems only Nintendo can get away with rehashing the same crap game time and time again.

Okay, I love all the franchises that Nintendo puts out, but isn't it irrelevant to even OWN a Wii when, even though these Wii franchise games are generally better, the Wii versions are slightly upgraded graphics with some gameplay tweaks and shitty online. Wasn't there supposed to a 'revolution'? The best games on the system are better without the wiimote.

The best games on the system are probably Metroid, Zelda and Mario which are all best with the Wii-mote

Disagree, except for Metroid. The wiimote adds nothing to either Mario or Zelda.

Zelda definitely never benefited from the controls, but in their defense, it was never designed as a Wii game, it was ported over pretty late in development. Mario on the other hand proved just how well the controls can work.

I bought a wii hoping for more funny gameplay than all millitary/FPS game experience you get on 360. At first I thought Wii was sooooo awesome, this is what I always been missing, good games which are fun to play. Now after I been playing zelda, Mario, wii sports and wario ware, there aren´t really any game I am looking forward to honestly. Anyone else feel this way? and what are your plans? selling it for a PS3? or keeping it and just wait for the best?
