ffs another game i really want thats not out for a year.

MvC is a hell of alot more over the top than SF..i can't wait to see how the special moves look with the SF4 shine attached to them. I just really hope Marvels not been stupid and denied Capcom using the best characters..like spiderman

I hope it looks nothing like SF4, thankfully it looks like Ryu is no longer the muscle bound mutant he is in SF4.

1) SF4 engine isn't shitty
2) it's not, it quite clearly says it uses MT Framework in the video

true, but i'm more worried about the art style then anything. i can cope with them using the engine, just dont make it look as shit.

It's going to be 3d.

Capcom have said that the character art released so far(at the top of the page) are the actual in game character models. So I don't think we have to worry about how the characters look.

If we are to believe the teaser and artworks, Capcom's characters look sketchy this time around and i think they really needed to change them to fit in with Marvel's comic like sprites, so it looks good to me.

I hope they get the 3D look right, never really liked how Tatsunoko VS Capcom looked.

It's hardly a technical wonder either. Rather bad textures and assets in the backgrounds and i hardly think the characters do all that much to impress either. The modeling/texturing artists and animators captured the feeling of SF quite well, but the engine still seems kind of "meh" to me.

Morrigan Aensland from Capcom's lesser known fighting game series "Darkstalkers". We're long overdue for a sequel, and personally I would much rather have a Darkstalkers 4 than this game. But hey.

Anyways, amazing news. I hope it does justice to MvC2, that was such a great game with massive amounts of content!

After watching the interview it's now clear to me that there will be some Bionic Commando and Dead Rising included.

And no, the producer didn't say that actually, btu he said eh wanetd wacky characters with crazy moves.

I don't know how you can even really begin to comment on the technical aspects of the engine when it's at least somewhat apparent that the game's look seems more art-driven than anything. Plus there's some fantastic lighting and particle effects, and absolutely zero slowdown or screen-tearing.

I agree to a large extent, but it's baffling how horrible some of the SF4 stages look, and I can understand the inclination to blame the tech in absence of a better explanation for the truly atrocious swamp stage.

@ Lebato

Aah, that's not the direction I want my respect scale going! :O

Thing is though I've never been much for these content driven flashy extravaganzas. They get to be a bit too hyper for me, and I could never quite stomach the likes of Guilty Gear or BlazBlue either. SNK vs Capcom was a little more sober, but also a lot less nutty fun, kinda making you wonder why you wouldn't just rather play a proper KOF or SF3.

Darkstalkers has a grounded charm to it within its utter madness, and gameplay wise it's also a lot less like someone mixing something in your drink, speed and intensity wise, which I prefer.

It's not really a slight against these games per se, I just kinda like a good graspable pace and slightly less man-sized special move beams of death filling my screen.

Looking at some of the new characters' designs in SF4, I don't find it too baffling that some of the stages would look horrible as well.

That isn't about design though, that's some N64 level garbage for geometry and textures right there. Juno from Jet Force Gemini would feel right at home.
