Funny how EA can base a game on conflicts happening right now without so much as a fuss stired..yet that THQ game got totally raped by the media and "cancelled"
The reason why there was so much commotion about the game is because it tells the real story of an actual event that happened not too long ago. Medal of honor doesn't tell a true story of an actual event, but uses the background of the war in Afghanistan, which makes it less personal, and in Medal of Honor there will be 'a good ending', like a Hollywood movie.
Looking forward to it.
It's funny how theres a line drawn between a real story of an actual event..and a game based on actual events going on right now. Whys one less sensitive than the other?
I just pray we dont get a game turned into an american patriotic fetish throughout.
Chances are, if Activision or THQ had anything to do with Six Days, we'd be playing the game already. THQ needs the publicity (good or bad) of being attached to a high profile game, and Activision would have just redubbed it Call of Duty: Fellujah Warfare, ending any controversy and selling a bazillion copies all in one move.
As for Medal of Honor reboot, I hope this game rocks the socks off of everyone and goes on to sell a bazillion copies. I'm tired of giving Activision my hard earned money, if all they are going to do with it, is water down my favorite franchises and screw over my favorite developers with it. So fuck Activision in the nose. Long live Respawn. Long live DICE. And long live anyone else who is making AAA games, and are not associated with Activision.
I still don't think it's enough, though. Rented servers (with no user level access) are good, but we're still missing dev tools. If BC2 proves anything, it's that competition is still horrifically difficult without them.
Bad company 2, altough good, still isnt anywhere near Battlefield 2:Modern Combat in terms of fun. Conquest mode is a joke in BC 2 aswell
