Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

Konami has released three gameplay videos of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance which show Raiden's bag of tricks. The first video shows the Zandatsu, allowing the player to cut what he will, the second one deals with the locations in the game and last but not least a suit overview (Blade mode, Augmented Reality, Ninja Run).

Still no inclination as to how to beat this guy, even as Jack The Ripper:

my only problem with this game is how uninhabited the locations look, metal gear tried to ground you in the real world like what was going on could takes place in what could be the real world, these just look like stock hack and slash locations, no civilians even in the city, i am going to love how theyre going to justify that. You'd think people would be displaced all over the place post SOP

I love that constant clash they do with that nice shockwave effect that pushes out, so awesome.

After the demo, this is definitely seem to be my action game of the year since the rest, based on track record of other titles, cant come close to it IMO anyways.

If they add arena mode/time attack with waves with maxed out level Raiden and weapons like Mission Mode in NG, it would be perfect for me.

Also, the only location i like is Japan with the sakura petals thats it, the rest is boring. Though I did also like the Mistral boss level at night.

Damn that last video is sick with that boss fight. ... most likely you have to parry him or some other trickery :D

I have to admit after playing the demo a second time and focusing on the parry - I gained a little more respect for the game. If it's anything like Bayonettas harder difficulties then I'm sold even more.

Metal Gear 4 was the exact same infact it's a japanese thing...most worlds look dead/sterile in 90% of Jap games.

I thought that after a while, parrying would become less challenging if he succeeds all the time, then this showed up.

I only know that there is a VR mission mode that apparently has some unforgiving regulations, so can't wait to see (this is likely their challenge mode of that I'm 95% sure).

I'm curious as to what Platinum games are going to take/force on you in Revengeance mode. In Bayonetta "Climax Mode" they took away Witch Time and in Vanquish "God Hard Mode" they halved your boost.

Either way, getting an S rank in all missions on Revengeance is probably going to be a chore.

Agreed! Achievements/trophies for beating all the bosses on Hard Mode or above without taking any damage?

Bring it on!

Parry looked easy but i am sure one can master it so no enemy can break it, action fans commit to mastering the combat one way or the other (japan especially, youtube is gonna be fun).

Interms of VR, its interesting but i dont want to do anything but to fight the instant i am thrown into a level, hence i want a level with waves, different maps, timer...etc. for me that is where replay value kicks in, especially when there is other weapons in it.

Well, I imagine something close to Bayonetta Angel Slayer or Vanquish Challenge Mode.

A possible Mode where you fight Sam, Mistral, Sundowner and Monsoon all at once?

Wishful thinking, but, that'd make getting the highest score on VR Missions all the more harder.

New weapon in action, best location, like NG2 chapter 1, my favorite.

Now if they can just have arena mode in that level i am content.

vanquish did this quite well IMO (waves with increasing insanity) - especially the bonus stages ... grrr which reminds me of Challenge 6 that I haven't cleared yet - flicking round 6!!

WTF? You can't see this on garbage games - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je1J4TxldPY

I was able to beat all of these challenges. Tbh i have much more troubles with challenge 4. Probably my favourite TPS this gen.

btw Shinji Mikami is so bad at Vanquish lol - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qShmbzpC1A

I was very much on the fence about the game before I played the demo. The screenshots always looked kinda ugly to me.

But I'm really looking forward to it now. The game is beautiful in motion and the cutting is quite entertaining.

I am with Raptor on this one Seth, Vanquish is plain bad.

Level design never changed, you couldnt use melee anytime without depleting all your energy for one single punch even if you didnt kill the enemy with it, feedback on gunplay wasent good, no unlockable nor upgrades (its a suit and we couldnt upgrade it? come on now).

Only thing that was great was the speed, fantastic animations of Sam during his acrobatic movements and the cutscenes how he finished them off.

Melee is OP, that's the reason. I like they put some limits for using it. I for one loved the gunplay. As for level design - it's like most of the japanese games, nothing mind blowing or something. Still the game looks good enough.
Only complain that i agree with is the upgrade system.

Playing on God Hard difficulty feels like NG with guns hehe, so punishing and fast.:D
If someone thinks challenges were hard, try the last difficulty on campaign.

Sorry but one single player, not even fully charge depletes it, its limited, its boring, its dumb, especially if the suit is suppose to be super advanced.
As for level design, it was constantly the same look, same white/metal look except one which was witht he green grass and trees but that was one of many, really bad.
Gunplay, shooting feedback was good, but when hitting th robots it wasnt good, but then again i never liked shooting robots compared to organic enemies, be it human or aliens.

I did try the challenge mode, too hard for me, way too hard lol.

You shoot humans in every damn game lol. I'm open for a change, i like how you are able do destroy most of the robots part by part. I wish there was PC version. Would look insane with the slow-mo + all the bullets around. :)

Still, shooting organic flesh with blood is more satistfying than metal. You see them gushing out blood, give a feedback of movement becoming nimble, falling down more naturally.

Now be it humans or aliens, i prefer aliens like say Locust in Gears of War for example. But robots are stiff, they dont show any damage feedback other than piece of metal going apart. Kind of like Terminator movies, no sense of feedback, just sparkles.

Just IMO, samething was with Binary Domain, i dont enjoy killing robots compared to organic enemies.

That explains why you dislike Vanquish that much. BD wasn't as good as Vanquish, but boy do i had fun destroying these robots. :D
