Will give teh demo a try.
its not a exciting, edge of the seat game though. it is ugly and it is unexciting.. but so was Sims. not every game has to have explosions
saying that i have no interest in buying this game lol but i see the appeal of it for the creative minds out there
I feel like they should have gone in precisely the opposite direction. An initially bored and unimpressed audience. "Why is it so ugly?" BAM! flyover of an expansive landscape. "Is it just a bunch of rocks?" BAM! a thousand unique block types blaze across the screen in three seconds. "I dunno it just seems too quiet..." BAM! hoard of whatever those zombie things are.
I dunno. I'm not a Minecraft player or an advertising expert. All I know is that the impressionable knee-jerk idiot inside me told me that ad sucked balls.

Just not wanting to sound like a complete dick.. think it looks like shit.
Unless all fans are nerdy lego fans lol
Unless all fans are nerdy lego fans lol
Plus Notch is a part of the Swedish ironic generation, its a Swedish thing.
But then again, he rather play with real lego to build something :)
I suppose it's because the more realistic games try and be, the more they expose what they can't be at this point technically speaking ie these aren't really as advanced worlds as you could hope for regarding how they function realistically and it's there i get pulled out of the experience. There isn't that expectation from someone that enjoys Minecraft because it's a different type of fantasy, one that allows the imagination to fill in any gaps- Skyrim's gaps are those things that will contrast with the exceptionally crafted world- for me at least
For me in Minecraft it feels very much more like i'm part of a living world than the one you see in Skyrim. I get to create worlds and what little there is in the way of life around me - pigs etc - it's enough to make me feel like i'm there. This despite how it's much less a game both visually and regards to what i can get up to in it. Incredibly created worlds will one day be incredibly dynamic as well in a way that isn't what they are now, and that's when i think a game like Skyrim will blow me away.. Not slagging on Skyrim here though for those that clearly enjoy it
