This and MW games are modern games, they have to go with what most soldiers from US uses the most and is more familair to gamers the most.
The Eotech scope is becoming more and more famous.
Killzone should change it up a bit considering that is a sci-fi game and fictional design is allowed.
Though I dont think they will considering how good looking that weapon is :)
I would LOVE to see a hologram scope though :)

Killzone 2 had an optic that pretty much copied the eotech holosight and changed the aircraft hud style reticle to a green dot (the standard ISA rifle). It actually bothers me a little that the weapon designs in KZ2 are so overly "contemporary" but I am really looking forward to the more wild stuff that KZ3 features, it seems like they realized this game is set in a post space travel era where gun design has advanced...
Kind of a pet peeve of mine how so many games and movies have this retarded anachronism of faster than light interstellar travel paired with current weapons tech (Avatar, Halo and Killzone are some examples that spring to mind). Mass Effect seemed to avoid this pitfall though, much to it's credit...
Anyway that was all a bit off topic... on topic MOH MP looks a bit too run of the mill for me, at least Black Ops has the whole different time periods gimmick going for it. I agree with phreakinpher that the SP is all important with MOH as the MP looks really familiar and dull.
It just seems to lack any intensity, which is weird with all the crap going on on screen. The explosions lack oomph and it feels weightless. I can't believe it's DICE to be honest...

Yea.. and when you combine how thinly stretched DICE is, the trends in their recent games, and the revelation that BF3 is likely a console game... meh... worried about DICE.
MOH multiplay is okay. I played the beta and was getting over 30 kills every match, even playing as Taliban. I like the killstreaks but I think COD will top this in the multiplayer catagory. MOH singleplayer will kick ass. I will still pick this up.

I actually preferred the opposition weapons, but that's hardly surprising. I'm also worried that Vietnam is only going to have four new maps. BC2 didn't have enough content to start with and now Vietnam may be extremely light on content for an "Expansion Pack." I'm probably getting 'nam though. I didn't care for the MoH beta very much at all.
After watching the video, I have to say it looks WAY better than what I played before. Rag doll effects have been fixed, rocket explosions have been fixed, it looks way cleaner and smoother.
Plus I love the radio chatter so I am going to pick this up

this is the least multiplayer looking multiplayer video i've seen. same goes for the last one they did. it looks so heavily scripted that it just lacks any real urgency or excitment.

Agreed. If games actually looked that smooth and played out like that online I'd probably be playing online 24/7. Comparing this to it's beta that I played a couple months back, they look like two totally different games. Hopefully the campaign will still be worth playing.
Alot of people will probably get it for one, its MOH, its FPS and its modern like MW.
And two, the important part...guarenteed access to Battlefield 3 beta.

I'm gambling on this being the case. I would probably buy this if it were the only way in, but I'm actually pretty upset with EA for even suggesting as much. Trying to get people to buy this game by promising them entry into a beta for a game they haven't even revealed yet is pretty shitty.

Yes, thinly stretched because EA has them now. EA is not about the love of making games anymore, that disappeared over a decade ago. These studios are being acquired to drive the moneymaking machine.
If some of these studios aren't careful, they'll lose the quality that got them famous enough to be bought by the likes of EA.

same here...never got into MoH or CoD....been a fan of Battlefield since 1942 and I have all the BF games.
Not being rude m8 but why comment on a specific game if you don't like it? For me i loved MoH beta, hell what the hell we got? COD and BF? that's 2 online games maybe once a year and i welcome anything new to the equation with open arms!
I still play COD4, TF2, and BF2 occasionally. Hell--people still play 1.6 and Quake 3. I haven't played much of anything recently, been too busy, but the point being... we don't actually need more than one great MP FPS a year :P Not that I don't welcome it. I just didn't really care for the beta. I think people are commenting on it because they were interested in it conceptually or they are interested in DICE. There's nothing wrong with that. I still have it pre-ordered but I'm most likely going to cancel.
i don't know but i got bored of shooters lately and this one doesn't look really innovative or like a new experience or something like that so i'll probably pass.
