Far East of Eden: Ziria is back again with these 28 more or less new images. Let's just hope the gameplay is as good as the graphics are not worthy of a 360.

the game looks ok thou.
I'm really sick of this invisible graphics standards bar for anything that comes out of the XBOX 360. It's not like its the only thing important.

Every "next generation" raises the bar for visuals..and as well it should..this invisible bar you speak of has existed on every platform before it..(btw, no one bitched about the graphics before your post--preemptive strike I know--EDIT: I was reading the thread only, didn't realise you were replying to the news post itself--sorry :P)
Could consider getting this sinse im a big fan of this type of games.

I for one think this looks pretty nice. I'm kinda fed up with normal mapped this and that. realtime softshadow this and that. Funny thing is that the games that people deem the best graphics ingame ever are not those pulling the one graphics trick after another. It's the games that have quailty throughout and everywhere. A style thats consequent you could say. Many games doesn't have that, but this one undeniable does. Who knows, it might even have great animation and very 'a-live' characters.
sigh.. see what you made me do...
/boom (once a lurker - now out of the closet)
I mean, you guys never even covered Tetris for the 360, which came out in Japan. Don't cover Ziria anymore, since you guys have already deemed it unworthy of the 360. Just post more GRAW vids and be done with it.

I'm all for diversity on the 360 platform. If the xbox live arcade games, with their 1985 or worse graphics, can get accepted by the mainstream and sell like crazy, why should future games with no realistic grit or dirt, mud, or particles not ever be deemed '360 worthy'? Sure you can complain 'but these games cost above 50 dollars or more', but IMO you pay for more than just the graphics, you also pay for the gameplay and the story (in this case, its an RPG so it counts), which is still much more lengthy than an hour and thirty minutes in the movie theater.
If you ask me, this kind of lopsided coverage is only helping those fanatical Playstation lunatics in trashing the 360 by giving them more ammunition in defending their vaporware.
Not every X360 game is golden and it's just silly to pretend that they are..and valid and constructive critisism shouldn't be covered up by fanboy wellwishings.
This site is a service to all of us, if you don't like the management's opinion you could atleast respect what they do.
In any case, this is an important game for 360 since I think its a remake of an absolute classic rpg in Japan, so even so plain looking there's a lot of hope for this game on MS to change its luck in Japan.
In their own words they want us, the users, not to troll and post stupid remarks, but on the other hand we get fed headlines like this:
'...Let's just hope the gameplay is as good as the graphics are not worthy of a 360.'
Hardly great 'journalism' is it? The problem I have with this is mostly due to the fact that many people read this and takes it for grated that this game is nothing to bother about. This site might actually put some peoples interest for a game like this, which could be brilliant for all I know.
Katamari looks pants acording to Xboxydes' standards (I would guess), but really it doesn't. Katamaris graphics are very fitting for the game and rounds the game off perfectly, making a very polished product. Ziria might happen to be just such a game.
I can understand that Xboxyde devotes loads of time to a game like GR:AW (and I've been sucking it up like a labrador), but I really would be better without the negative laden headlines.
If you want to hurt a game, don't talk about it at all. We all know that bad publicity is better than none.
A bit more professionalism is not to much to ask for, is it? Thanks.
- Dynasty Warriors was obviously a 'filler' title to make a quick buck and show a presence on the new console. It looks like crap, but it used to be fun. But with N3 coming out, there's no point.
-Love football doesn't look bad, but I don't like the artist style. And I dont like soccer.
-Namco should be ashamed at they're obvious half-assed work with ridge racer and frame city killer (though it's still in development). They don't have a problem. They're just not putting forth the effort.
I can't see why you said Ridge racer has given the developers problems. I think it's you who has the problems.

Lost Plant, N3, Dead Rising, Blue Dragon, ChromeHounds, DOA4 etc. etc. proves you wrong. Right there.
Also take into account that lots of games in the first couple of generations of games for a new console acutally started on the previous generation consoles.
I totally agree that this is quite an important game for the x360 in japan. I hope it will do well.
Well, actually I think it's an important game for any region, because it shows that the xbox360 does more things than just show nomalmaps in a corridor with blur effects...

Anyways, there's enough games coming out to meet "nextgen" standards, while games like these are great for those who also want a more indie feel for their games where the developers budget isn't mammoth and they do more with story and gameplay than they do with graphics. As long as not ALL the games come out like this then I have no problems whatsoever seeing a game like Ziria come out. And as much as I want Blim to tone down some of his remarks, well, it is his site, so whatever.
This game recieving a budget price would be its only saving grace..hell it's a far cry to even call this game "Cell shaded"--thier technique seems like little more than a bunch of relatively flat textures--if that's all there is to the cell shaded look, I guess pretty much every N64 game was "Cell shaded"..certainly doesn't even aproach the beauty of a game like Wind Waker, or Rogue Galaxy...
Quality graphics entail more than just a lot of polygons and new shader effects..the art production in general here is lacking, big time..
Sure, it exceeds what was possible on the PS2 by merit of things like draw distance, resolution and image quality..it's certainly not in attention to detail, or production quality.
No way is this even trying to stretch the 360's legs.
