Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3 Wii 3DS

Electronic Arts has released a new Need for Speed trailer, this time showcasing Need For Speed: The Run. It will be available November 15 in North America and November 17 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. You can see the press release below.

EA TAKES GAMERS ON THE RACE OF THEIR LIVES IN NEED FOR SPEED THE RUN

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – April 29, 2011 – Get ready to rip up the road! Adrenaline junkies and speed fiends will find themselves on the wrong side of the law this November when they race for their lives in Need for SpeedTM The Run from Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS). The hottest blockbuster this holiday is a game that takes players on a heart-pounding cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. Launching on November 15, Need for Speed The Run lures players into an underground world of illicit, high-stakes racing. The heat is on – and it isn’t just the fuzz who are after you. Entering the race is just the beginning as you blow across borders, weave through dense urban traffic, rocket down icy mountain passes and navigate narrow canyons at breakneck speeds. Powered by DICE’s state-of-the-art Frostbite TM 2 engine, Need for Speed The Run takes the action racing genre to new heights with stunning visuals and car physics that hug the road even at top speeds all built around a gripping storyline. The cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story will have you at the edge of your seat… all the way from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Empire State building.

“This is the year that Need for Speed goes to the next level,” said Jason DeLong, Executive Producer at EA. “We think that Need for Speed The Run is going to surprise people with its intense, thrilling story and big action feel. But the game would be nothing without hot cars and crazy-fast chases. So that is what we’re delivering -- explosive racing that will have players flirting with disaster at 200-miles an hour.”

Using the groundbreaking Frostbite 2 engine, Need for Speed The Run will set the bar with unparalleled visual quality and enhanced physics. Need for Speed The Run will also take immersive storytelling to a new level with cutting edge performances that will draw the player into a world with no speed limits, rules or allies. Autolog, the Need for Speed franchise’s revolutionary social competition functionality, is back and better in Need for Speed The Run as it will continue to reinvent how people play games, track career progression and compare game stats.

Developed by Black Box , a studio of Electronic Arts , Need for Speed The Run will be available November 15, 2011 in North America and November 17, 2011 in Europe for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PC, WiiTM and Nintendo 3DSTM.

We'll see what Black box can achieve with Frostbite 2. Sounds interesting, hope it's good.

Another Need for Speed, no one needs. Why they just wont let this series die? Hot Pursuit was a flop and this one will be one, too. Is this game some kind of a mix between Carbon and Hot Pursuit, just like Carbon was a mix between Underground 1 and Most Wanted?

They're really running out of ideas. And Undercover already proofed that NO ONE wants a pathetic story in a racer!!

blah blah, I think I heard that before :D

Hot Pursuit was a really good arcade racer imo, the only series they need to ditch is SHIFT. Guess there will be some gameplay shown at the upcoming e3. Looks interesting, just hope that explosion on the mountain was just for show off, and not like split/second.

Looks like a better version of Split Second which in itself was awesome!

Wait what? How was hot pursuit a flop, it sold well and got great reviews?

But yeah i don't have high hopes about this since they have stupidly decided to let black box studios develop it instead of criterion, and the talk about a "gripping storyline" raises alarm bells, seriously who cares about the plot in a racing game.

Man, I'm getting tired of racing games lately. GT5, Shift 2, Dirt 3 coming out in a few weeks, (not to mention Driv4r and Forza coming out later in the year) and now they are announcing ANOTHER NFS game? What are they shooting for, 3 per year?

Since we have very little to go with, I guess it sounds kinda cool if they can make it sort of a Trackmania/Burnout combo with over the top races, amazing crash physics, and wild tracks/stunts. Otherwise, it will be just another racing game to throw on the pile.

Hot Pursuit wasn't a flop, Shift 2 was cause it was released with zero marketing and hype. Hot Pursuit in NA sold more than GT5...

really? so does that mean the 6+ million GT5 sales where primarily in the EU/japan? guess the US don't like GT?

but yeah, hot pursuit was hardly a flop, sold 5+ million and got great reviews. didn't like it myself, but it certainly wasn't a flop.

weirdly GT5 was the racing game that got me into it. didn't like sim racers at all prior to that. not even past GT's. i was pretty much all about motorstorm and burnout (before paradise ruined it) GT5 has opened my eyes to different racers, most of which arnt that great, but i'm at least giving then the time of day now (motoGP, F1, rally, kart, combat, sim, offroad etc). i DO think the hot persuit, midnight club, burnout style racers are getting incredibly stale tho, they all just feel like the same game now.

Another "best" NFS? Lol. PC,PS3,XBOX360,Wii - they gonna make a lot of money.
Leave NFS alone - let the good'n'old memories remain untouched by this new crap.

anyone forget somthing, this sounds like nfs is finally going back to its roots, just like the first nfs was point to point this sounds like its going to enhance what wasnt technicaly possable back in 95, this isnt underground or carbon and certainly not shift or hot persuit plus using the frostbite 2 engine might actually make it play better who knows, ill wait till it comes out.
