Evolution Studios has released new screens of MotorStorm Apocalypse showing a new track that Matt Southern calls: the one with a race where you get dropped from a helicopter onto a skyscraper that is already collapsing. Sounds fun. The game should be out in February 2011.

bullshots, but still, super psyched for this. only racer i've really liked this gen (since there isnt a decent burnout, nor an SSX game) and it's a racing game with split screen, 4 player split screen at that. they're a rare breed, but once they come along they're all the more awesome for it. split-screen online too. canne wait.

@ Korndog Um Burnout paradise was great... a bit old now I guess but at the time it was great... need for speed hot pursuit is really good too... no split screen though I'll give you that...

didnt like paradise personally. they broke what i loved about the old games by making it open world...and again. not split-screen...and no crash mode. there really wasnt much to like about it imo.

the AI, while rubberband, only makes the racing all the more intense imo. i'd hate the game if i could get a lead and leave the oposition in the dust like most "realistic" AI routines. it's edge of your seat racing. the old burnout games where the same and they where all the better for it.

the idea one fuck up can cause you the race is very very exciting, even exhilarating. and it keeps the "argy-bargy" brutality at a max, which i love about the series. the idea that while bombing ahead on a bike, knowing there is a truck or car right behind you ready to crush your ass.

outside of the rubberbanding, i can't really fault the AI, they're smart, they tustle with each other whether you're there to see it or not, they make mistakes, they overtake, they fight for position.... i love the AI in this series. you could argue it was "cheap" or "unfair", but if it was any different it wouldnt be as fun.

cool interview. i love the fact it's got 40 unique races. (i'm sure some of those will be the same track with more or less destroyed elements) it's such a huge jump over the 16 that was in the last game or the 9 that was in the first. sounds awesome tho, customisable vehicles, livery editor, you can finally do some tricks on the bikes. sony have WAY too many exclusives for the first half of the year tho. i just hope they've paced themselves and have something for the latter half too.

in Motorstorm the rubber band never affected me that much, but the one in GRiD totally pissed me off
